I've just been to John Lewis to look at the kitchenware - however the kitchenware is no longer in its usual place as most of the floor is now filled with Christmas trees, lights and decorations!

AIBU to think it's far too early for this?

I love Christmas and get very excited picking out decorations etc but could we not at least get Halloween out of the way first?

Funny that we have borrowed Halloween from USA

Halloween is Scottish.

Cleverplayonwords · 01/10/2019 21:04

Halloween is not an American thing.

I'm Scottish we've been celebrating Halloween for as long as I can remember.

our home bargains shop have been doing Halloween in one isle then Christmas in the next, then around the corner all the summer camping stuff since early august

TheNestedIf · 01/10/2019 23:23

At this rate, we'll have to start picking on people who put their decorations up during November in March.

taytosandwich · 01/10/2019 23:43

Oh my god that's so shocking Shock oh wait, no it isn't, this has happened literally every year that I can remember and I'm sure many years before that. Who cares.

MutedUser · 02/10/2019 00:07

Halloween is not America they stole it from us Scots .

Notajogger · 02/10/2019 05:25

As to Halloween, it can get stuffed. Utterly stupid
This. I'm only in my 30s but I swear Halloween wasn't a "thing" when I was young - seems to be more of a recent commercialisation of it which has made it into one!

I really don't mind it!

I like to spread the cost and have started buying this weekend. (Can't bring myself to do it any earlier).
Usually I pick up little bits here and there and have a box for it all and put little sticky notes on them so I can see what I bought for each person Blush

It saves me a lot of money as if I ever leave it late I end up panic buying and overspending.

Also it's nice to have little things to look forward to in the cold months.

I love Christmas..I'm happy for it to be a season and last 3 months

Oldraver · 02/10/2019 13:27

The place I'm working at opens its Christmas hall on Saturday.

I may have a sneaky peak later on
