Universal Credit - is this right? AIBU

I have a colleague (single parent) who has just been moved onto universal credit. Youngest child is 3 so they need to look for work (fair enough they were expecting that and happy to do so).

My colleague has been told that when they go to their weekly meetings their phone will have to be handed over and they will check to see which websites they have looked at/ emails sent and calls made. This is to prove they have searched for a minimum of 16 hours a week.

My question is can they/do they really make you hand over your phone?

It seems such a personal item! Or AIBU?

@Stressedout10 @ChinChinPassMeTheGin

It is 25 hours work when children are between 3 and 12 and only 36 after they are 13

Her universal credit account has a section to list job applications she has applied for. She can just keep a record on there. They won't need to look at her phone, that's ridiculous. She can message her case worker from her online account and ask for a 2nd opinion on that

Click Journal in her account and it will give options for her to send a message about any questions she needs to ask
