The whoe south east asia thing is about far more than communism. The Khmer Rouge were actually loyal to their king and fought alongide all sorts of groups, and the NVA were always much more a nationalist group than communists. It was also about US or Chinese alignment. Its a miracle that region has turned out relatively peaceful.
