...to think that I will never get the smell of dog out of this house?! (And ask how you managed it?)

Just moved into a house whose previous owners had a very large dog. It had the run of the house. When we viewed the house, I expected it to smell of dog as there was a dog in it. (I do like dogs, although I wouldn't have one upstairs).

One of the members of my household has severe atopic asthma triggered by several things but worst of all by dog dander. (So we gave up on having dogs after the last one died of old age.) Since we've moved in, I have had the carpets shampooed, the house deep cleaned and I've changed the soft furnishings. I'm currently burning a massive citrus candle, and yet the living room and conservatory still really smell of dog. Help!
