Hello & ciao! I am Italian, DH's a Scot, kids are English and we live in the South of England. We are having wine, eating chicken and listening to the Rolling Stones because my DH only likes music by old, dead people. What are you doing o MNetters?

Kalispera sas! I'm a Brit living abroad, currently sitting on my balcony enjoying a nice cool evening. Moldovan neighbours chattering quietly and giggling next door, can't understand a word they're saying but they sound very happy and in love.

I can also hear the Black Eyed Peas blasting in the distance from what I think is an Airbnb. 'My lovely lady lumps' sounds hilarious sang in a German accent Grin

Drinking scotch and chatting with DH.

highheelsandbobblehats · 27/09/2019 21:32

In my pyjamas on the sofa with DH watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix. We've both watched them all before but are rewatching.

As-Salam-u-Alaikum SimonJT! You live in a cool place! I loved living in London! & Kalispera Nonstopbuttmachine.

We are now looking at houses and planning our future life if I get this job next week. I need some good luck, fellow MNetters. I had a really shit period lately, people in my family dying, losing my job (department shut down not my fault) and need need need my destiny to turn around. Either that or learn to live like the Dickensian poor with pride. Soot on checks, going up chimney, that sort of thing.

MonnaLisa It certainly is, have loved it since I was old enough to drink.

Bobbiepin · 28/09/2019 08:42

@MonnaLisa nope English too I'm afraid. Rather uninteresting! Must be my guac skills you're warming to.

MonnaLisa · 28/09/2019 09:07

Guac is the food of the gods!! If you make good guac you are my friend. Smile

Guacamole with warm fresh tortillas is avocado heaven. My husband doesn't like guacamole, he only likes avocado as dessert food, with sugar.

Good luck with the job MonnaLisa

Bobbiepin · 28/09/2019 21:39

I have to say I was impressed at this one. We've grown tomatoes this year so i finely chopped one and mixed it in, really added to it.

@LinoleumBlownapart avocado as dessert? With sugar? Really??

Funghi · 28/09/2019 21:45

I wish I was Italian. Or Scottish.

What’s your favourite pasta recipe, OP?

MonnaLisa · 28/09/2019 21:57

@funghi roasted peppers and tomatoes under the grill and then whizzed up together in a food processor, add basil, pine nuts, olive oil fresh ground pepper. A dash of cream if you are the indulgent kind. Short pasta. A dusting of freshly grated Parmesan on top. It's easy, quick and very lovely.

Funghi · 28/09/2019 22:16

Mmmmmm sounds delicious, thank you OP I will give it a go!

I do believe I was born to be raised on a diet of the best pasta, pizza and amazing wine so I’ll take my honorary membership and start making up for those missed years, thank you Grin
