To stay off work today? Tonsillitis

Aaaargh I've had a sore throat all week and have struggled through work but have been up all night with a sore throat and earache and just looked in the mirror and saw that white gunk I remember from tonsillitis as a kid :(. Even sipping drinks is really painful to swallow. Anyway my aibu is that I'm currently working my notice and finish up at the end of October. Do you think they'll think I at it if I stay home? Also I'm reading conflicting info about it being infectious and needing antibiotics. Do you think I should try get a docs appointment or is it wasting their time?

@blumberger... of course gargling with bleach will affect your gut... as will any biocides which you are using to kill bacteria, there are no biocides that kill only the bacteria that you are targeting and do not impact your gut.

That said, it is something I would consider this!!

You sound proper poorly - poor thing. Being off work with this is legit and you shouldn't fee bad.

Thanks so much ladies. I was prescribed 10 days of pennicillin and a spray for my throat which really helps with the pain. My boss was fine after all that worrying!
