DD has bruises from school

I noticed this evening my DD in Y1 at school came home with bruising, both arms, almost like someone has grabbed her quite hard and left finger marks.

I know the older kids pick the younger kids up sometimes at break and lunch as I know the lunchtime staff have constantly told them not to. My DD has come home once and said so and so picked me up and I didn’t like it.

The width of the finger marks are the size of a child’s definitely as they are too close together.

AIBU to feel fuming?

I don’t want my DD bruised! What can I do?

Im just worried too because I’m a single mum and if I told the school I’m scared they’d think it’s me.

It was a few months back that my DD came one saying so and so picked her up.

Have you asked her what happened?

NameChanged000 · 26/09/2019 20:35

Yes, she said she doesn’t remember and I said did someone pick you up and she said she doesn’t know.

AIBU to feel fuming?

Well yes you are a bit, you have no idea what you are fuming about.

Why would you automatically assume they might think it's you? That's a bit of a leap.

My kids are constantly covered in bruises and none of us know how they’ve got them! I wouldn’t worry

NarwhalsNarwhals · 26/09/2019 20:48

They are child sized finger marks though, they might well notice them anyway and then they'll wonder why you didn't tell them, which would be far more of a concern than a parent pointing out an injury got at school which they want looking into. Single mums are no more suspected of abusing their children than any other parent by the way.

What does DD say happened? Older children unfortunately do pick up the little ones, we've got to a point that year 6 children have started missing lunch times for it because apparently no amount of telling them not to do it is going in! I would definitely want you to tell me so I could deal with it.

Yes, she said she doesn’t remember and I said did someone pick you up and she said she doesn’t know. is a bit worrying, finger print bruises would hurt, surely she'd remember that?
