To not answer phone calls from “No Caller ID”?

I’ve just had my 4th “No Caller ID” call today... DH saw me ignore the call and asked why I didn’t answer, I just said I never answer those calls and if it’s something important whoever it is will leave a voicemail which I’ll listen to and call back if necessary. Otherwise I just assume it’s a cold call or a robot and ignore it.

DH thinks I’m weird. Am I weird? Do other people have this policy?

No I never answer them unless I’m expecting a call.

If it’s important then they will leave a voicemail.

I think it is rude to not answer my self

How is it rude not to answer your phone? is it rude if you are driving, if you don't hear it ring, if you've left it at home, you're doing something you don't want to interupt or for any other reason or only rude if you don't pick up because you don't know who it is?

DP and I religiously ignore private calls due to issues we had in the past.

Yanbu.
I ignore them. Unless they call back a second or third time and they I answer as they can be something slightly important.

I rarely get a call without a number showing these days. I still get a few unrecognised numbers though. I answer them, hang up when I realise they are unsolicited then dial 1572 and have BT call protect service block the number so it can't bother me again!

I don't remember the last time a cold caller bothered to withhold their number, presumably because of people who wouldn't answer them. Private numbers are always hospital, doctor or large institution with several hundred extensions in my experience.

June ah, I'm lucky that my GP does have a recognised number. The others don't apply to me; as I said, when parents - or friends - have been in hospital, I do answer. But under normal circumstances no.
