What the eff is happening on here? I clicked on a thread in good faith only to scroll on to a picture of the worst spider I have ever seen - no warning anywhere!!! Needless to say I threw my phone down in panic and obviously I had to tentatively approach my phone to close the thread. The obvious thing to have done was to comment on that thread but what other surprises were going to jump out of me?
And before I get the obvious comments from the usual posters telling me that I have a problem, I fucking know I do but where is your compassion?

So op, who is scared of spiders, went on a thread clearly about spiders, then got scared when someone posted a picture of a spider on the second page...

FFS, maybe we should just ban all pictures of everything, or at least have trigger warnings with each and every pic of anything, just in case someone has a phobia.

The thread was about someone who was scared of spiders asking for help to get over that fear.

Why should someone afraid of spiders not go onto such a thread?

@AskingQuestionsAllTheTime Ah, someone posted a thread above that I thought was the thread in question. That was obviously about spiders and it was obviously going to involve a photo at some point.
If it was a phobia thread and someone deliberately put the photo in that's a little different.

'Should' doesn't apply with real phobias, they're irrational fears.

OP, I think the MN advice is burn the thread to the ground. (That's the spider specific one, not to be confused with LTB, cancel the cheque, and move to a different country.)

All photos of Bozza definitely need to come with a warning.
