Posting here for traffic. Please be kind, I’m already down.

It is my dream job, going back to the level I was pre children (it has taken me 12,years of junior jobs to get here after taking time off after maternity leave. It is a managing position for plenty of scope for process optimisation (my strength) BUT I need to have knowledge of certain legislations I don’t know about. They must know I don’t have it as not mentioned in CV or application questions. I am required to do an hour presentation during interview of a topic that will be given to me on arrival.

Cons: My health is not good, I have been going through assessments for cancer for 3 months and although I had some positive news yesterday. I feel drained and not in the frame of mind to be able to concentrate properly. My stress levels are so high I have developed eczema, I don’t feel strong to take in such a big challenge.

I have a job that I love, that is also VERY stressful but I have done it for a few years and it has become too easy. I’m getting a bit bored and in need of a new scene.

New job would pay 20% more BUT, if I don’t do it well I may find myself unemployed in 6 months at the end of the probation period.

I am a divorced mum with single care of my son, no family around, just me and the amazing sprout who is a good teen but who I need to send to uni in a couple of years... on my own.

Would you go to the interview?

definitely go and decide later if you're offered the job.

I can’t see a downside of going. Either you don’t get offered the job and you have no regrets about trying or you get offered and then need to make a decision and you can get more advice at that point.

The downside of dropping out is that you might regret it either if your role become redundant or your personal circumstances change and you wish you’d tried for your dream job.

Go for it and good luck
