To not send back the wrong parcel?

I bought a jumper on eBay and the seller sent me the wrong jumper and said she mixed the parcels up in error and would I send it to the correct buyer who will send on mine.
This sounds fair enough so I agreed, although I haven't received anything yet, however she sent me a pre-paid label via email, which I have no way of printing off as I don't own a printer which I told her but she told me the post office would do that for me, after taking a bus to the post office they wouldn't though saying it's only going to print proof of postage not the label.

I don't have the car during the week as hubby uses it for work and I don't live in walking distance of the P/O or Library I have 3 pre-schoolers and hubby has the car and the postage expires tomorrow.
I really don't need this stress and didn't ask for this parcel, nor have I received my item and probably won't as I can't get this back to her.
I have offered to post it if she sends a pre-paid label in the post or pays via PayPal for postage but she's ignoring me now obviously thinking I'm being difficult.
I just want to dump the stupid jumper I didn't ask for it am I being unreasonable just to not send it back it's not something I'd wear so it isn't that I want to keep it for myself I just don't need this. Am I really obligated to pay postage and travel to correct someone else's mistake? It's not my fault she sent it to me or that she emailed the postage.

Can’t they post you a lashes?

PurpleDaisies · 25/09/2019 07:48

Label! Not lashes.

CornishCreation · 25/09/2019 07:56

I have offered but she's not replied after I said I'd been to the post office unsuccessfully she didn't respond, I'm guessing as she paid for postage and emailed it to me and I have no printer she feels it's down to me now but I don't want to pay for the postage as it is more than my 99p purchase that I've already paid postage for and am unlikely to see and is not worth anything in value.
I feel blackmailed to send a parcel to her that she meant to send to someone else at my own cost or not receive the goods I've paid for.

Would your DH be able to print it at work as a once off? Or a family member?

PurpleDaisies · 25/09/2019 08:03

Just wait for her to respond. Stick the item in a drawer somewhere and forget about it.

TheCanterburyWhales · 25/09/2019 08:05

I don't understand the bit about you already going to the Post Office?
It's a pain but not the huge tragedy you seem to be making it out to be. She's paid the postage for you, what more can she do?
You'll get your money back from the jumper you didn't get.

nanamouskouri · 25/09/2019 08:05

Open a case via PayPal for your money back.

GPatz · 25/09/2019 08:07

Talk about mountains and molehills.

Itsallpetetong · 25/09/2019 08:12

Is her return address on it? I would just “return to sender” and leave her to sort it and declare your item as not received

edme · 25/09/2019 09:00

They made a mistake when they sent you the wrong jumper, and now they are asking you to do them a favour to send it back. Please don't stress about it - just remember it's a favour they are asking for. You don't have to send the jumper back. It's inconvenient for you to go to the post office. You can ask them to send a courier to pick up the jumper, and a courier who will bring their own label.
If they don't post you the jumper you have actually ordered, open a case on ebay ( not on PayPal, as others have suggested). Ebay will rule on your favour if they haven't sent you your order (they can't prove it they have, and they haven't), and they will refund you.

AdobeWanKenobi · 25/09/2019 09:45

If you open a case this will require you to return the wrong item and print off a label.
Seriously, it's easier to print the label. Can nobody do this for you? Can you not arrange to get to the library?

edme · 25/09/2019 11:08

The seller is asking her to send the jumper to the other buyer. If she opens the case, she may need to send back the jumper to the seller, but they won't make her to print off the label. Not everyone has a printer.
There will be options to either for her to pay for the postage and it will be refunded to her.
However, what the seller is asking at the moment is to send the jumper to the other buyer. If she does this, she won't be able to claim back the postage if she does not use the prepaid label.
While if she sends back the jumper to the seller, then, if she pays for the postage herself (because she could not print out the prepaid label), she will be refunded.

Idontwanttotalk · 25/09/2019 11:33

Are you okay OP? You sound like you are really getting fretful about this and it isn't really a big deal.

I'd probably ask a friend or DH to print off the label then go back to the Post Office with it and then, when they receive it, look forward to receiving your jumper.

Coffeeandchocolate9 · 25/09/2019 11:40

Send the jumper back to the buyer next time you're in town anyway. Ask the seller for refund of your return postage as clearly you shouldn't incur return (or forwarding!) postage costs. Screenshot and keep all communications. Open a dispute on Ebay if seller uncooperative.

Mummyoflittledragon · 25/09/2019 12:09

You paid 99p for an item and the seller wants you to send it on. Is that right? Is the item you received a lot more than 99p? I imagine it isn’t terribly expensive and in this case the seller should probably just refund both buyers, let them keep the items and apologise.

EdersonsSmileyTattoo · 25/09/2019 12:27

I did this earlier on in the year, mixed up a pair of shoes and a top Blush

I contacted each buyer, they were happy to post on to each other and happy for me to give them each other’s addresses and I Paypal’d the P&P costs and a little extra to both of them, and it was fine. No problems.

I ended up a little out of pocket but hey ho, it was my error in the first place so I wasn’t bothered by that.

Newschapter · 25/09/2019 12:36

Can't you post the parcel and then ask for the payment to be reimbursed?

It seems like such a drama over nothing really.

DamonSalvatoresDinner · 25/09/2019 12:47

Don't you know ANYONE with a printer? Just stick a call out on your FB. The quicker you get it done the quicker it's all over. It sounds like a genuine mistake.
