Sold kids shoes on EBay - listed under children’s clothes shoes and accessories, sub section boys shoes.
Listing reads:
Suede Loafers, size 13, as pic, brand new no box

Buyer received shoes and wants a full refund as he is a 6ft man with so 13 feet and thought they were men’s shoes.
They are listed in the children’s wear section in the correct kids category.
He wants a refund which I’m willing to do if he returns the loafers. He wants me to pay postage, I think it’s his error so he should pay postage.
AIBU to think that he should pay return postage.

Those aren't obviously kids shoes just from the photo, the style and the lack of scale means I can quite easily see how he made the mistake. You did list them correctly so I guess technically you are not in the wrong either! An unfortunate mix up, I think you should refund to be fair.

I think you really have to make sure you repeatedly express what the item is, and what condition it's in, especially with clothes/shoes.

Did the title of your listing include 'boys' or 'kids'?

I don't think you did anything wrong as such other than not make it clear for buyers to know what they're buying, and by not protecting yourself by being crystal clear I think he is entitled to a refund.

Ebay is tough!

*refund with postage paid by yourself.

Those saying they can understand the mix up as there is no scale to the photo. Have you ever seen a pair of men’s size 13 shoes? Without meaning to be rude, they are borderline clown shoes!!! Okay, that is a bit rude but honestly size 13s are massive and look completely different proportions. Most of the men in my family have huge feet. If they said they had ordered those in the picture I would just laugh at them.

At best your buyer was being very optimistic that he’d found the holy grail of size 13 shoes that didn’t look like the usual barge boats!

Yep, my husband wears size 13 shoes, they are fecking enormous! No way do they look like OP's pic.

@Toomuchtrouble4me

I do a lot on eBay and am a trusted member in the "Member to Member" community.

You are absolutely right of course but the practicality of it is that if the buyer opens a "not as described" case [and do not deal in any other way] you will simply have to send a label through the case to return and refund. EBay "always" finds for the buyer. They have no way [or perhaps "interest"] of finding out the truth. If you resist the case then eBay will repay the buyer and may allow him to keep the item. In addition they will give you a defect.

You will at least get the item back to resell. If you do not believe my sad advice please go to the community [bottom of most pages] and to "member to member"

I think he’s daft but I think that I probably should have put Boys in the description as well as the heading. He’s agreed to split the postage which seems reasonable.
Thanks all.
