Working 20-23 hours a week with 3 full weeks off a year or working 40 hours and having five full weeks off?

Il take 20-23 hrs and three weeks off please!

SD1978 · 23/09/2019 23:12

Do I need the extra money the 40 hours gives? Is my commute time the same? How many days am I working with each role? Are my child care costs different due to both roles, can I Boone extra time off if I want a longer holiday with the lesser hour job- many variables and not that simple a question.

20-23 hrs and 3 weeks off

HennyPennyHorror · 23/09/2019 23:24

20-30 hours a week. 3 weeks off a year is still plenty and think of all those other weeks...40 hours? No thanks...I'd rather take a less stressful week any day.

Depends on a ton of variables! Not enough info to choose.

If you're in the UK, 3 weeks annual leave isn't legal, I'd be checking that with any potential employer.

The first one, no doubt about it!

47, say 45 to account for public holidays, weeks at 40 hrs = 1800 hrs pa
49, say 47 to account for public holidays, weeks at 23 hrs = 1081 hrs pa.

In other words, the extra two weeks holiday doesn't begin to compensate you for the extra 17 hours a week.
