To think it's far more expensive to book holidays separately.

Ok, so we were meant to be in greece today but as thomas cook have gone bust I'm sat at home trying to book another holiday for may half term. I've seen a lot of tweets surprised (and almost blaming) it's due to the fact it's cheaper to buy everything thing separately. However I've looked at flights to get to zante and it's almost £2.5k when the full holiday all inclusive with tui is just over £3k. What am I doing so wrong that I cant find all of these components of a holiday for less than a travel agent?

If any of you want to find me a nice holiday in may half term for 5 all inclusive for £3k then please be my guest haha

Exactly what other people have said - prices generally double (at least) during school holidays so you are not comparing like for like. Your Thomas Cook package would probably have been £5000 if you'd booked it for May half term.

It entirely depends on what you want. Package holidays are sometimes cheaper if you get them at the right time (typically very early or very late) since they discount the holidays and the flights.

Something like disneyworld though for example you can save a fortune booking separately. We have been a few times and always stay on site and use the meal plan. We last went in October half term for 5k for 2 adults and 2 teens (classed as adults in disney pricing) staying on site and including all meals drinks and park tickets. It takes work though to find the best prices.

Ring EShores and speak to a guy called Gavin. He has beaten every quote from other agents and even booking things separately that we've ever asked for.
