To think nobody has invented white chocolate pain au chocolat?

I was baking fresh pain with DS aged 2 today. You may remember that last week he wanted to BE a pain au chocolat.

Today he grabbed a bar of Green and Black’s white chocolate and shoved it at me. We made pain with white chocolate and it’s delicious! He covered himself in pastry and pretended he was a pastry too. Again.

But doing a Google it appears that nobody else has tried it! Do you think I can become a millionaire now by making a white chocolate pain company?

Sorry but this is done in France already.

MrsA2015 · 21/09/2019 17:42

Go for it!

Anxietyandwine · 21/09/2019 17:43

Find the chocolate in the normal ones far too rich. I would definitely try a white chocolate one though sounds yummy!

doubleshotespresso · 21/09/2019 17:43

WHERE CAN I PAY NOW PLEASE?

SerenDippitty · 21/09/2019 17:47

To be honest I think white chocolate is best eaten straight.

I had a white chocolate Options drink once. God it was revolting. Like drinking very watery anaemic custard.

Asked DS if he'd like pain au choc with white chocolate... it was a resounding yes!

He's now in a huff because it's not actually a thing

IcedPurple · 21/09/2019 17:58

Am I correct in saying that white chocolate technically isn't chocolate at all, since it doesn't contain cocoa solids?

Redcrayons · 21/09/2019 18:03

Sounds delicious.

I'll have a mixed dozen, 6 white chocolate and 6 chocolate orange. No rush, I can wait till 10-ish tomorrow.

kateandme · 22/09/2019 00:04

yes!if we all invest we could get this going.

LayLar360 · 22/09/2019 05:35

I checked your googling because I felt sure this must be a thing.

Couldn't find any recipes!

Would definitely love to try.

fantasmasgoria1 · 22/09/2019 05:39

White chocolate is an abomination. Yuk!

QueenOfIce · 22/09/2019 05:46

🙋🏻‍♀️ me, though I'd like to be employed as strictly quality control.

quitecontrary123 · 22/09/2019 08:27

I'd buy them but they would only work fresh out of the oven. Can I also put in a request for Creme Egg ones at Easter?

WindsweptEgret · 22/09/2019 10:10

Am I correct in saying that white chocolate technically isn't chocolate at all, since it doesn't contain cocoa solids? I don't consider it chocolate. It's a confectionery product made with about 20-30% cocoa butter, which is made from cocoa beans, but doesn't taste like chocolate!

Triskaidekaphilia · 22/09/2019 10:17

One of the cafes where I work has white chocolate and raspberry ones. Sadly not the one I work in!

tillytrotter1 · 22/09/2019 11:07

Many years ago Sainsbury's did a chocolate tear and share tray, delicious, I went into a decline when the stopped doing it.

Reminds me of our first day in New Zealand, we drove down to Akaroa and found a lovely coffee shop and they had just taken some white chocolate and rapsberry muffins out of the oven, totally divine.

SomewhereInbetween1 · 22/09/2019 11:30

I think Richard did one with raspberries too on GBBO in 2014! 😊

This is definitely a winner, what about pain with cherry jam and creme d'amandes, like a Bakewell pain!

WindsweptEgret · 22/09/2019 15:56

I'd eat a cherry and dark chocolate one.

Reindeerssmellbetter · 22/09/2019 16:01

This is an amazing idea. I really want one now.

Scentsandsensible · 22/09/2019 17:29

Op I hate you. I now really want one of these and they don’t actually exist... so yanbu
