Is my dd a fussy eatee?

My ds is 14 and has a great appetite and literally eats whatever he is given. Dd is 12 and if she doesn't like the look of a meal there is no way it will pass her lips. This week she has happily eaten 4 meals - toad in the hole, tandori chicken with potato wedges and carrots, quesdilla and home made pizza. She flat refused thai prawn curry and jambalaya. Wouldn't even try it though. I am reluctant to stop making unusual meals or ds misses out, but really don't know how to deal with dd when she won't eat it. How would you handle this?

She’s 12, can’t she make herself pasta or a toastie if she doesn’t like what’s on offer?

Would she help you make it?

Give her the meal and if she doesn’t eat it she can go hungry

They do both enjoy cooking and often make a meal. This week I asked her to choose the meals and she chose the jambalaya but absolutely refused it when the saw it despite the fact that she likes everything in it!?! I'm just not sure if i should be saying she can have an alternative or is that ok now she's older although it's absolutely impossible to make her eat something when she doesn't want to.

I'd just carry on cooking interesting food and letting her work out what she likes. And make herself a sandwich and some fruit if she doesn't like what's on offer.

Also the typo in your thread title is hilarious - I'd be pretty fussy over who eats me too, since I'm not into cannibalism.

Your approach sounds pretty sensible.
