so i'm about 6 weeks pregnant and have had a stitch in my left side that has been sore since last night. I lug around my 4 year old with limited mobility a fair bit so its likely i've just pulled something

GP referred me for an early scan on Friday morning. I need to leave at 8.30 and the kids start school at 9. Hubby leaves for work at 8 and starts at 8.30. I asked him to start an hour late so i can go to my appointment, he said no because the school he works at is having a sponsored walk and he goes every year basically to have a bit of a day out. If he goes in late he'll have to spend the day doing actual work.

AIBU to think he's being a bit of a selfish dick about it?

You need to tell him this is an urgent scan and you are unable to rearrange it. Unless you have an adverse obstetric history you haven't mentioned, the purpose of this scan is to ensure the pregnancy is developing in the right place and to rule out an ectopic pregnancy, which can be life threatening. Does your husband know this? If not, it needs to be explained to him pronto.

Also, not a good idea taking the little one along. The scan will be transvaginal in a small dark room and it's simply not suitable for children.

OP I really hope you are ok and that it will be a happy outcome tomorrow. If I were you I would simply get up and leave for the scan, giving him no choice but to tale care of your child.

I spoke to him, he didn't realise it was this important. He thought it was just because I've been anxious

Eejit. Feel bad making him out to be some kind of awful person when he didnt realise the importance.

Happy to report, he's doing the Friday school run and I'll head to the hospital.

And he brought home chocolate, fat coke and my favourite crisps for being a twat
