YOU are beautiful
YOU are amazing
YOU are special
YOU are loved

That person who's staring right back at you when you look in the mirror is worthy of a good life!
You deserve to love yourself
You deserve happiness

No matter how depressed, stressed, anxious, angry etc you are today it's only temporary. Hang in there and know the world will sparkle again through your eyes

@gobbynorthernbird some people hate the way they look and it brings them down. Everyone is beautiful inside and out, sometimes it's just nice to hear it

HeartStrings · 18/09/2019 21:46

It's a message aimed at anyone in any situation

Monkeyplanet · 18/09/2019 21:46

Thank yOu

gobbynorthernbird · 18/09/2019 21:47

Hahahahaha. More twee shite.

fokouembiyemassj · 18/09/2019 21:47

Thank you although I don't deserve it

Cryalot2 · 18/09/2019 21:49

Thanks , but right now I feel the opposite

MarthasGinYard · 18/09/2019 21:51

Oh no

It's the 'dance like there's no one watching' brigade Confused

OctopusNow · 18/09/2019 21:51

Sorry but some things don't get better, they just drag on and you get more and more defeated and worn down.

Sometimes you feel shit because things genuinely are shit.

Catsandchardonnay · 18/09/2019 22:11

🤢🤮

@gobbynorthernbird 😂

It’s like those crap poems in greetings cards. Completely insincere.

mypuddin · 18/09/2019 22:29

FFS what the fuck has happened to mumsnet?!! I don't need cliche bullshit from a stranger thanks .

Sparrowlegs248 · 18/09/2019 22:34

Yes,yabu. This sort of shite REALLY pisses me off. You don't know me, or my life.

passionfruit11 · 18/09/2019 22:36

Words like this only mean something when the person saying them knows you and your life

HeartStrings · 18/09/2019 23:08

I just wrote the kind of thing that personally makes me happy when I'm feeling down and I know it can help other people too. Of course it's not to everyone's taste but there's no harm in a little positivity from time to time

Ponoka7 · 18/09/2019 23:12

"Everyone is beautiful inside and out,"

No they're not.

dollydaydream114 · 19/09/2019 00:09

I’m afraid that when I was genuinely anxious and depressed seeing this sort of thing on social media just made me want to punch a hole in my laptop screen. I had to unfollow people because I found this type of thing was actually making my mental health a lot worse.

It is just bollocks. I know you mean well but don’t tell ‘everyone in any situation’ that everything will be fine and that it will be OK in the end. There are thousands of situations in which this would be utterly inappropriate and downright cruel.

It must be nice for you to think you can fix things so easily but life is not that fucking simple.

dollydaydream114 · 19/09/2019 00:13

there's no harm in a little positivity from time to time

Actually, it is harmful to people in a lot of mental health situations to keep seeing this ‘Yay, you’re gorgeous and loved and everything will be fine tomorrow!’ stuff. It’s a massive over-simplification that just makes their unhappiness seem even worse.

Ohyesiam · 19/09/2019 00:16

I like your motivation op

TrainspottingWelsh · 19/09/2019 00:23

I’m with gobby. Inane bollocks. Although it certainly made me smile, just not in a #feelinguplifted manner.

It sounds like the lyrics for Ed Sheeran’s next hit.

GreatBigNoise · 19/09/2019 00:37

🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

kateandme · 19/09/2019 00:38

life is shit.
your all bastards.
is that better?

littledrummergirl · 19/09/2019 00:41

Yabvu to post that twee bollocks here.

buttonz · 19/09/2019 00:47

Hate this patronising twaddle. However, I am a psychopath in a high security prison so probably don't have a beautiful soul.

SunkissedCherry · 19/09/2019 00:57

What a load of condescending tripe.

itwaseverthus · 19/09/2019 01:08

I was just chatting to a friend about how, after decades, our sexual abuse still affects us. But we are fabulous and we are worth living a great life and your message is definitely true op x

TheSandman · 19/09/2019 01:15

What twee shite.

and

"Today is the first day of the rest of your life". "Strangers are friends you haven't made yet..."

No one 'deserves' happiness. Fucking Disney worldview.
