To reapply a job I recently was turned down for?

Long story short - had what i thought was a great interview a month ago for a job I have all quals, experience for - didn't get it as I was 'nervous' at interview amongst a couple of other things I can work on. Just saw it readvertised - WIBU to reapply? (and maybe put at the bottom of application letter that I was previously unsuccessful but have taken their feedback onboard)?

Another one who thinks you should apply. I help w recruitment for certain posts in my organisation. It is rare we turn someone down at interview for being totally unsuitable, most get turned down because they are not best on the day. I have previously turned down someone for a casual position then recruited them for the permanent version of the job that came on line a few months later. She was really good but hadn't really prepared for the first interview as she was in the middle of a messy breakup. Second time she was ready.

I interviewed for my current job THREE TIMES. It was an internal move and I knew the panel members so by the third time we all had a good laugh about me haunting them until I got the job. The previous times I'd been the reserve candidate having been pipped to the post by someone with more direct experience, but thankfully this time there were two posts available so I got one.

Keep at it, it shows how keen you are!

Absolutely do it. Fortune favours the brave. And what did they give you feedback for if it wasn't to help you develop into the right candidate?

And yes, please keep us posted. Good luck.

I’m recruiting at the moment for roles in my team. First thing we do is look through previous candidates and contact any who were promising / came a close second to see if they are still looking.

I recruit 2-3 times a year and one candidate applies every time even though we reject her constantly which is annoying.

We’re you in touch with a recruiter or LM? If so I’d contact them and discuss first.

I've just re applied for a role I was pipped to the post on and got an interview, go for it.

It would depend if it’s the same job, or the same role (ie another position opened up doing the same role). If the former, probably not, if the latter, yes. I say this as someone with some experience of interviewing, but I don’t work in recruitment or HR.

I got the job!

Congratulations PablosHoney !

Update: Just got an email informing me I didn't make the shortlist. Ah well.
