Not to cut down my tree solely because of neighbour's cat's safety?

We have a tree in our front garden. It's probably dead. Our neighbour came over today to ask us to cut it down because she is worried about her cat falling because small, thin branches and twigs are snapping when he climbs.

We are getting a tree surgeon to look at it. We will get it cut down and/or removed if it poses a danger to people or property nearby.

AIBU not to cut it down if the tree surgeon says no danger to people/property but cat might well keep snapping small branches off as it climbs? I'm a bit out of the loop of cat ownership, so it's a genuine question because, although my gut says I'm not BU, I may not be as empathetic with cats as I was.

My parents keep a dead tree specifically for birdwatching
Yanbu keep whatever you want in your garden
You can always yarn bomb your tree and REALLy drive her nuts

Perch I'm hoping it'll attract lots of insects and other bugs and be a free bird feeder!!

My neighbour has a dead tree right up against my fence. My cat climbs in it all the time.

The most annoying thing about the tree is all the dead twigs than litter my garden.

I don’t think my cat is spin any danger form it😻

Tell her to bog off! I have a cat and he is forever climbing trees and pretending he is stuck up there - just yesterday I could hear crying so got my ladders out climbed up them only for my cat to jump on my shoulder so he could have free ride down from his perch. Cats are very good climbers and rarely fall or hurt themselves.

I'm a twat and I would keep the tree simply because I think the neighbour had a fucking nerve to expect you to pay to have a tree cut down in your own garden, because of her cat.

I'd be that twat too. Even if I was going to get it cut down, I wouldn't now for a couple of years, just to piss her off. Cheeky cow.
