To report this to the police.

We were driving home earlier today when three young children ran across the road in front of us, my DH slammed on the brakes in time luckily; the father of the kids came across shouting at DH as if it was his fault ( it wasn’t).
I told him he should teach his children how to cross the road safely and he then came to my side of the car, called me a fat cunt and spat at me.
I want to report it as an assault but DH says there’s no point.

Actionhasmagic · 15/09/2019 17:55

Horrible man !

Chapellass · 15/09/2019 17:59

Did he spit on the car or you? DNA? I was attacked in a road rage attack - the guy spat on the window and they got dna from that

RabbityMcRabbit · 15/09/2019 18:02

I wouldn't bother. I reported my assault to the police and they did very little about it. Sorry you had this experience OP.

Chapellass · 15/09/2019 18:04

If he spat on you and you followed the advice above to wash it off, you will also have washed away the evidence.

For all, if you are ever assaulted you should go straight to the police or ring them to come to you for swabs and collection of your clothes if you might want to press charges. I do understand the instinct to wash yourself - I nearly wiped away blood transfer from the attacker before the PC stopped me.

statetrooperstacey · 15/09/2019 20:38

Ah fair play then op, can you drive back there another day at the same time and actually try and run over his offspring? Obviously kit your car out like something out of mad max first!

Lvsel · 15/09/2019 21:01

Honestly dont bother.
I had my car smashed up with me in it and because the people who did it had a fake plate police did nothing. The persons who the fake plate was allegedly didnt realise although I think they were something to do with it. How do you not notice your number plate gone

CrohnicallyEarly · 15/09/2019 21:10

They don’t take the actual numberplate off, they get a new plate made up with the same number!

youarenotkiddingme · 15/09/2019 21:27

If you've been spat at and it's gone into your eye or you have an open wound you need to speak to practice nurse for advice.

I know what you mean re wanting to report it vs knowing it's pointless. I can tell you it becomes even more annoying (or I found it so) when you know it won't be investigated when reported.

I was pulling forward behind cars that had moved. I'd say correctly a zebra crossing and loved only when I had enough room. Except a car pulled out of a side street and my back wheels touched the white line at edge. A bloke walked about 7m towards me and began calling me names and licking the shit out of my car.

I thought they investigate as shop had it on cctv. That's why I reported it.

youarenotkiddingme · 15/09/2019 21:28

Sorry should have said had him on cctv when he'd crossed road. Not the incident.

SuzieSunshine · 15/09/2019 22:48

@youarenotkiddingme Sorry - I know your post should have said 'kicking' but it's conjoured up a very funny image that's made me LOL!!

PumpkinP · 15/09/2019 23:00

I really wouldn’t
