AIBU to switch to roll on deodorant

I've always used spray on deodorant but have found mitchum is the only effective one. I'm thinking of moving over to roll on but they just feel so wet. What's the trick to using them?

sprays are horribly bad for lungs so good for you to switching.

the trick is to let them dry completely before getting dressed, hairdryer can help, esp if you use one anyway.
or try a stick? though I don't like the tacky feeling.

CrazyCatLady159 · 15/09/2019 11:49

I use the Mitchum cream rather than their roll on as they seem to dry faster and last longer imo Smile

Put it on, our bra on then start getting dressed from the bottom; by the time you up your top on it's dry

ooopsupsideyourhead · 15/09/2019 11:51

Bra and knickers on. Deodorant on. Trousers/socks on. Roll on now dry. Finish dressing. If it’s not drying quickly, you’re maybe putting too much on?

Or, if you are a slattern like me, get fully dressed and then put deodorant on by pulling clothes away from armpit and reaching through neck/under shirt Grin

Skyecat · 15/09/2019 11:52

Sure cream roll on is effective and takes less time to dry than a liquid roll on.

Lockheart · 15/09/2019 11:53

Millions of people use roll ons, why on earth do you think you'd be unreasonable to use one?

MinisterforCheekyFuckery · 15/09/2019 11:55

I don't see the issue, just wait until it's dry before you put your top on.

FaithInfinity · 15/09/2019 11:55

I actually like the cream ones best. I get very sweaty but like Sure Maximum protection cream anti-perspirant. I wash, apply anti-perspirant, do my face, get dressed putting my top on last.

Fluffsmum · 15/09/2019 11:58

I keep deodorant in the bathroom. I shower, pat dry, put deodorant on, clean my teeth (naked to dry off) then get dressed as it's dry by then.

LutherRalph1 · 15/09/2019 12:12

I switched to roll on during pregnancy, and because my underarms were getting sore
It's only an aldi one, nothing special - works great!
Quite often, I have a lay down with my arms above my head to dry off Smile

Blueoasis · 15/09/2019 12:15

Just get a cream roll on one rather than the horrible wet ones. I hate them so much. Don't find they work well anyway but guess that was just me.

DramaAlpaca · 15/09/2019 12:17

I wash my hair every morning, so I just direct the hairdryer under my armpits when I'm drying my hair Grin

Stopandlook · 15/09/2019 12:18

I switched for same reason. Hate inhaling deodorant.
Just allow a bit of extra time to dry.

Inebriati · 15/09/2019 12:18

Ha, I came here to say that, I also use a hairdryer after a shower Grin

fivecupsoftea · 15/09/2019 12:19

I use a dry deodorant stick (Sure for men, though I’m female). Doesn’t this avoid the problem of the wetness? I don’t know why everyone doesn’t use a dry stick?

Bigmango · 15/09/2019 12:20

Always used Vaseline. Dries straight away. Some are wet and sticky. I stick to Vaseline and dove. But Vaseline more effective.

dollydaydream114 · 15/09/2019 12:23

I use a Nivea roll-on. Dries in seconds. Out of the shower, put it on, dry by the time you get dressed.

cccameron · 15/09/2019 12:24

Why would you be unreasonable to use a product that millions use every day? Odd question.
They dry pretty much instantly so you don't feel wet
I don't use dry sticks because they leave a clumpy, tacky residue and sprays, apart from getting in your lungs, leave white marks on your clothes.

OtraCosaMariposa · 15/09/2019 12:26

Sprays are horrendous for the environment too, all that packaging.

Stickybeaksid · 15/09/2019 12:26

Nivea roll on. Dries in seconds and I think it works really well. I am a sweaty monster and it does me

PinkiOcelot · 15/09/2019 12:29

I only use roll on now. Gave up on spray a long time ago. Don’t have a problem with drying time either. I use Dove.

ShivD · 15/09/2019 12:32

Roll on works a million times better for me than a spray.

yellowallpaper · 15/09/2019 12:36

I can't bear sprays (make me choke) or wet ones (they feel awful and stay wet), but I find the dove dry roll on deodorants great. Not as easily found as the others but they are a solid dry stick deodorant.

Crazybunnylady123 · 15/09/2019 12:38

Bionsen is really nice, it’s aluminium free and has a pleasant smell. I have been using in for at least three years.

PumpkinP · 15/09/2019 12:41

I can’t use them because the wet feeling I hate them. They don’t dry instantly either, I’ve never used one that has anyway. I stick with sprays

Deelish75 · 15/09/2019 12:56

I use dove roll on and find it dries in no time
