Ds is 15 months... Wibu to let him play in his cot, watch TV etc n have another hours sleep? As my name suggests I'm absolutely shattered 😴 😴

Do it. I used to put DD in her playpen with some toys while I dozed on the couch. Maybe put the radio on rather than a screen but it's up to you. I wouldn't put a screen in the cot with him though.

Shatteredmummy30 · 15/09/2019 10:54

Aw he hasn't got a screen in the cot, I've put cartoons on our TV (he's still in our room as his needs decorated) n he's playing with toys and teddies while it's on in the background

I personally wouldn't... But your the mother

meepmoop · 15/09/2019 10:57

I would, that's the only way I can get DS to fall asleep at home. In the cot with nursery rhymes on the screen.

TheMobileSiteMadeMeSignup · 15/09/2019 10:58

Oh then definitely just leave him where he is safe and happy. He'll wake you up when he gets bored/hungry. Set yourself an alarm so that if you do fall fully asleep it won't be for hours and hours. I tended to find a 45 minute nap felt better than an hour due to sleep cycles.

Enjoy some much needed rest.

OctoberLovers any specific reason why or just martyrdom?

KatnissMellark · 15/09/2019 11:02

Totally fine, no need to be a martyr Flowers

Shatteredmummy30 · 15/09/2019 11:04

He's had breakfast and been changed so all is good there, boss baby is on in the background n I'm actually sitting watching it rather than sleeping lol

Do it! I don't know why anyobe wouldn't, as long as he's happy and playing by himself, i don't see a problem!

TheMobileSiteMadeMeSignup · 15/09/2019 11:06

OP put the phone/laptop away and close your eyes. Before you've watched the whole thing.

GlamGiraffe · 15/09/2019 11:07

Theres no real reason why not as long as he cant either get out of the cot or get to anything dangerous. If you are in proximity on case of some sudden problem theres no problem I personally see.
Young children don't need to be Literally watched all the time, playing alone us good, it is an important step in development and helps teach children how to entertain themselves.
Its important for babies to have a properly functioning parent not just a person present. It's about quality of time.

meccacos2 · 15/09/2019 11:10

I would do that....

When I was little my parents would often sleep in on the weekends.

There’s also nothing wrong with a child being bored, it forces them use their imagination which is essential for their brain development.

Have a sleep, as long as he is safe there’s no issue.

Sometimes babies wake up and lie there talking to themselves anyway.... he’s comfortable, he doesn’t need you and if he does need you he can just wake up crying 🤷🏼‍♀️

Witchinaditch · 15/09/2019 11:26

Yes that’s fine he’s safe and happy and you will be in the same room so will wake if anything happens?

violetdelights · 15/09/2019 11:28

Do it! He's safe and happy. There's no problem with it

Shatteredmummy30 · 15/09/2019 12:03

It wasn't long but by god that nap was the best ever hahaha

Good for you ! My kids are adults now but I still remember the relief of putting them in the cot with Sesame Street going, and I'd have an hour's snooze.

Shatteredmummy30 · 15/09/2019 12:43

Aww @shippingNews it felt so good lol he was so well behaved as well just yapping away to his toys haha
