To take DD (almost 14) to see Book of Mormon with me?

Dd is used to swearing and sexual humour (I work in sexual health)
Yes have 2 tickets for Book of Mormon for tonight and DP refuses to come with me.

I have asked all my mates and not one will come with me Sad
DD really wants to come and tells me she hears the worst swearing and sexual stuff at school and she can cope with it with no issues.
However I feel like a bad parent Blush if I take her.

Anyone reassure me? Or is it an absolute NO

it was written in the context of how the missionaries view the people they come to 'save'

Absolutely this.

No issue with swearing/sexuality, context is everything. Peppering every conversation with gratuitous f-ing, pointless and ugly. Love Island, naked dating etc. just vacuous. To the point and part of a story, no issues here. Monty Python, for example. Quite happy for 13/14 year old watching Life of Brian because it’s intelligent, very funny and makes a point. Cohen Brothers, imho some of the best films ever made, really violent and sweary but crucial to story. Alexei Sayle/Frankie Boyle etc. same thing.

Would check theatre policy though, might exclude under 16.

If it does, can I come Grin

Well we went and really enjoyed it! It wasn't half as bad as I thought

DD laughed but said after she didn't fully understand everything that was said but she had fun

I notice on WE understudies you got the understudy Cunningham tonight. I’ve seen both and thought he was actually better than the main Cunningham.

Glad you enjoyed it.
