Name changed as it could be outing.

So 2 months ago after complaining numerous times to the landlord about the damp and mould issues I handed my notice in to terminate my tenancy. At the time I was so upset as everything in my wardrobe had gone mouldy and it was the final straw. Anyway I thought it would be easy enough to find other accommodation. Stupid I know but for the sake of my health, childs health and my possessions I had to make a hasty decision.

Fast forward to now and I have 2 weeks to find somewhere. I've seen around 20 properties and only one stands out but it's got restricted parking between 9am-6pm meaning my car would have to be parked away from the front of the house at these hours.

On the flip side I can move in with MIL temporarily. But it will be crowded for me and little one plus her family too (total 5 adults 1 toddler 3 bed house).

WWYD take on a house where parking could be/is a pain in the backside or hold out at MILS and pray the perfect home comes up soon?!

I'd move in with MIL. Last thing you need is to rush into a new lease on somewhere that isn't right, and then be stuck there for the length of the tenancy.

Re the parking, can you get a residents permit?

In all honesty, if you’ve viewed 20 properties and only 1 has been almost suitable, it sounds like you need to either

1 - increase your search area
2 - increase your budget
And / or
3 - lower your expectations or compromise

I don’t mean to sound rude, just maybe realistic?

Move in with MIL. You might not find the “perfect home” but you can choose which compromises you’re willing to make. Parking is a biggie for me.

This is a tough one. That parking thing could possibly be a massive pain in the arse. Especially having a small child. I think I might be moving in with the MIL for a bit.

I've contacted the council and with it not being permit parking the woman said the entire street would have to agree in order for this to come into force which is annoying.

I've upped the budget but a big factor is I dont want to change little ones nursery so search radius is 15ish miles.

Admittedly I'm being picky to a degree, in search of a 2 bed house/flat, small outdoor area, bathroom with a bath, not too outdated (ie kitchen bathroom) and parking space for 2 cars.

The ones I've seen so far are either shower only, downstairs bathroom, shared garden space, no parking or outdated/not well kept. A handful have been damp too which immediately puts me off given the current situation. Dont want to jump out of the frying pan into the fire so to speak.
