Refund taken back twice

I purchased a service around a month ago now, which was charged for twice. The original cost should have been 100, but the provider stated that they would have to charge me twice for the service as they had already produced an item for me, despite me not confirming the order.

I raised a compliant with the company HR and was granted 50 refund

Since then, 50 has been taken from my account twice - meaning that I have "paid" now 200 for the product which should have been 50!!

I don't have much money and this has thrown my budget off for the month.

The company is well known in the high Street, and despite daily phone calls and promise of resolving in 3 working days, I still haven't got my money back

Aibu to now request ALL the money back (200) because of the inept way my claim has been dealt with? I really don't complain about things usually, but spending

Contact your bank, you should be absolutely fine. I've had excellent luck with chargebacks.

If you paid with a Visa (debit or credit card) you can claim through Visa. Google visa charge back.

So you ordered one set of prints for £50 which they printed without confirmation. When you got to store it was wrong so they had to reprint but charged you for that too, a total of £100. They then refunded £50 because they broke their own policy. Subsequently they have now taken a further two lots of £50 from your account that does not pertain to any transactions whatsoever? That’s how I read it.

Get on to your bank to charge back the two lots of £50 taken. I think they will refer you straight to the card issuer. They will contact the company directly and if they don’t respond within a certain time period, they automatically charge it back. A similar situation happened to me a few years back so this process may have changed now. Or as others have said Twitter or their Facebook page. Good luck OP!

Why would sorting this stop you travelling?

Maybe it's a money/budget issue?

MummytoCSJH · 10/09/2019 12:36

OP specifically mentioned that it has messed with her budget this month, hence why it would affect her travelling. Another thread where certain posters don't understand that some people don't just have spare money hanging around in their bank accounts.

So many different interpretations of what happened.

@lilyflowerbloom

OP can you clarify?

ChicCroissant · 10/09/2019 15:36

Just to say that I assume HR should be HO, Head Office. But yes, a bit more clarification needed really OP.
