To think husband should dress up for superhero party?

We've been invited to a superhero party next weekend as a family, my daughter is really excited and even my husband was starting to get into it and bought a Spiderman costume on Amazon (I got Captain Marvel and my daughter Pink Batgirl...)

Today was the big try on and the problem started when he couldn't reach to zip up the back of his costume by himself. No problem, I did it for him today, but he says I won't be there at the party if he needs the little boys room.

He's making a really big deal of this and has gone off the idea entirely now, and won't even talk about just buying something else.

I think he sees it as some kind of personal defeat and he would wear this one if he could crack it himself. He's certainly been trying... but unless his arms grow 2 inches this week I can't reply on him figuring it out! (and yes watching him try is absolutely hilarious!!)

AIBU or should he just wear it and ask for a hand if he needs it?

how often are you all going to wear that tat? waste. I wouldn't go. but I also find adults at fancy dress parties crinch worthy.

There are loads of zipper assistants on amazon & such like- get him researching on the internet. I've one that was a £5. I dont think I'm very bendy and I kept getting wrinkles in the darn dresses I couldn't zip on.

I was going to suggest Velcro but that could create a whole other problem. 😁

Cut a hole in the crotch and put a zip in it, that way he doesn't have to take anything off at all! 😂

He's got it on again now to try to crack it post stretches today. He wanted to do it up himself but I just couldn't resist pulling it up so he's stuck in it if he can't figure it out. Updates to follow...

Like the idea of modifying the costume, that could work. I'll float the idea of tonight's magic doesn't work out.

And he hasn't got a potbelly!

Only lasted 10 minutes tonight before, his exact words "I'm absolutely f**cked babe, can you let me out?"

I've floated the idea of putting in another zip and I think that's the solution we'll go for - thanks all!

He was standing on tip toes when trying to do it, and I realised I do exactly the same when trying to reach zips on dresses and stuff, why does standing on tip-toes make you feel more flexible!?
