I parked in the parent and child without a baby today.

It's not what you think.

I was meeting my brother with my new nephew (7 weeks!) In town so I went into one of the P&C spaces because I know after this shop we would be going to a few others.

Get out of the car and walking around the Asda waiting for him he tells me he's not coming. I went straight back to the car and did a walk of shame back with no baby. I saw a woman packing a toddler into a car a few spaces down give me a look.

Wibu? I genuinely was going to have a baby come back to the car and then didn't! I felt a bit bad in the end.

If it helps any the average size of a parking space is the same as it was 50 years ago, while the average car size has increased by 35%. Even a Ford Focus is only 53cm smaller than a parking space. If you go upto the level of say an Audi Q5 they are larger than an average space.

I would have been tempted to say something like 'Oh don't worry, I do have a baby I just popped him in the boot whilst I did some shopping' and watch her bit miffed look turn into one of horror Grin

People can be very uptight. I parked in P&C when heavily pregnant with what turned out to be a very large baby (11lb 4 at birth) I was struggling to walk due to swelling and massive bump but was given dogs abuse by a woman who had her teenager and pre teen because she needed that space.

Don't worry about it OP.

Because Wendy Whingebag has had lovely shiny P&C spaces provided to make life a little easier. She doesn't need to be a complete martyr. Unless of course, shitbag Sharon has decided to park there without a child in the car. Despite her saying she managed all those years without - suddenly those spaces are rather attractive!
