im so intolerant of people these days. I find most people are hard work and it's worse as i get older. Anyone else like me?

The field in which I grow my fuck is bare when it comes to other people’s problems.
If you’re a loved one, I’m right there with you, but no, I don’t want to listen to how awful a strangers life is. I just don’t give a shit.
I also don’t watch the news as it’s depressing AF seeing all the crap humankind do to screw each other over.
I’m not even in my 30s, what will I be like as an old woman?!

Crustytoenail · 07/09/2019 23:19

The longer I work in hospitality, the worse I get. But more infuriating than the whiny, entitled and downright abusive at times customers are the sly, lazy and backstabbing idiots without an ounce of common sense that I'm forced to work with. I used to be nice about it, now not so much. Work alone now. Perfect solution 😉

Makesmilingyourbesthobby · 07/09/2019 23:24

In my 30's too and so intolerant of people who do nothing to help themselves or moan about everything but do nothing to change things and don't get me started on people who can't see past they own opinions or feelings ain't got the time for any of they stuff but worst I haven't got the time for ignorant rude people with no manners I actually make a joke to close ones sometimes that I don't like people but in actual fact now I think about it it's that I hate certain ways some people are

Whatsnewpussyhat · 07/09/2019 23:35

I think a lot of it is that the older you get, and more life experience you have, the more you see through all the bullshit.

daphine2004 · 07/09/2019 23:41

Me! I was speaking to DH yesterday as I want to work on being less judgemental and more tolerant, but it’s hard to change something so inherent!

My issue is when people complain about their situation but won’t change it - when this is within their control. I have no patience to listen to it!

GibbonLover · 08/09/2019 00:05

No tolerance for those who complain about their lives yet continue to perpetuate things:
SAHMs of school-age children who moan about lack of money/workaholic DH yet won't look for work.
Those complaining about how fat they are whilst opening their third bag of crisps of the day.
People who bemoan the state of the NHS yet continue to vote Tory/keep giving birth/visiting the GP for minor ailments.
Anyone with savings who claims to be 'skint'.

AlexaAmbidextra · 08/09/2019 00:19

God no. Not unreasonable at all. A friend and I were laughing about this just the other day saying it’s a good job we have each other as we can’t stand anyone else. 😂.

I have a lot of empathy broadly, just not a lot of time or energy for specific people, especially those who seem determined to live their lives providing “Not what to do” lessons to everyone or create their own misfortune.
