To say that squeezey bottle mayonnaise is bloody pointless?

Or am I missing some secret trick? It's a great idea in theory and for the first half of the bottle it's fab but after that it's a total bloody faff and you end up wasting at least a third of the bottle because it won't come out! I'm going back to glass jars, better for the environment too ......

Once I've used it a couple of times I put some oat milk in it to water it down ever so slightly.

Do store it upside down. The bottle doesn’t take in enough air to eject the last say inch. Simply doesn’t work as others have also said.

1. store squirty end down
2. use centrifugal force or slap into your hand to slosh the mayo to the squirty end as needed
3. revel in the joy that is a mayo jar WITH NO FUCKING BREADCRUMBS IN IT
4. when on the very last dregs unscrew the lid and use a knife/teaspoon

I store it on its lid but the problem with both the Aldi version and hellmans is that it's thick and gloopy and sort of sticks to the side and top of the bottle and doesn't really move even with vigorous shaking and squeezing. Ketchup in the same type of squeezy bottle behaves differently, it's much runnier and easier to squeeze out.

A sundae spoon is handy to get out the mayo stuck at the top.

I suppose I agree with you, I've never bought a squeezy bottle of mayonnaise but my husband did a couple of times when he shopped. I think it was all used up, I rarely have it so wouldn't necessarily notice. Presumably if there is some left in the bottle you could cut it open with a knife and scoop out. I prefer jars though.

Yep I’ve swapped back to glass as well, much to the kids annoyance. But I hate the waste, squeezy salad cream is another crap invention, it just seeps out all the time so you have to store it the wrong way.

Squeezy marmite is crap too.

My brother finds squeeze mayo particularly revolting.

I also think that mayo in glass jars tastes better. Hellmann’s in squeezy plastic doesn’t taste right to me!

They made it like this on purpose, so you have to buy more mayonnaise.
