Only had it out at places and need some for a big celebration next month.

I don't really want to buy a Chinese brand due to the animal welfare and general quality but I understand 60% now comes from China!

Try London Fine foods website.

Sweetdreamer93 · 05/09/2019 16:11

Don’t forget the mother of pearl spoon as normal ones change the taste.

InkedGreen · 05/09/2019 16:13

Ah thank you, looks like they just do an exmore golden caviar. Will people think it's cheap if it's not black?

Have you tried this brand?

Ah yes I've actually got a set of 6 spoons already 😁

Attilus caviar in London do Mail Order, various price levels if you do not have the funds for Beluga.

IsobelRae23 · 05/09/2019 16:16

How much do you want to spend is the question?

Divebar · 05/09/2019 16:21

Surprised more people haven’t responded

InkedGreen · 05/09/2019 16:22

Looking to get about 60g, enough for 4 people to have a few bites. Is that enough? Would spend up to 200 or a bit more if it's worth it.

Would rather get one where the eggs are massaged out rather then the sturgeon killed.

Yes, we had vegetarian (!) caviar where the sturgeon laid the eggs but wasn't harmed a couple of years ago for Christmas - from this place

InkedGreen · 05/09/2019 16:45

The vegetarian looks good, would you say the taste is not far off Beluga?

50g enough for 4 people?

Exmoor caviar from London fine foods online, last I checked it was only one that is made in the UK. I liked the Cornish one most after trying their sampler. I think 1 tsp is about 10g so it depends how much you want to serve. I would use 1/2 tsp for one canapés and allow 2-3 tsp a person for a few bites.

How fancy!

Have only tried caviar canapes once or twice at weddings I think.

Would love to know the whole menu for this celebration Grin

youmeandconchitawurst · 05/09/2019 17:15

Does everyone actually like it? If not, probably give it a miss. London fine foods does a good selection and explains the main differences between the grades. I only say this because I think it's grim (weird because I love fish roe in general) and I'd hate anyone to waste that amount on something I know I don't like.

EvenPhilip · 05/09/2019 17:49

50 grams isn't really enough for four.
