To think there must be something for post partum hair loss?

I’m 4 months post partum and finding the amount of hair I’m losing really distressing. I pull out clumps in the shower and in my hair brush and my clothes are always covered in hair!! It’s horrible. I can’t see any bald patches so assume I’m losing from all over. I already have fine and flat hair. My pony tail is so thin. Everything I’ve read suggests it will stop after a while and grow back but surely there’s something that can help stop so much falling out?! I’m using Alpecin shampoo and applying essential oils like peppermint, lavender and rosemary. Haven’t seen any difference though.

Did yours fall from the roots? Mines coming out from all over my head but more so around the front.

Ive not found anything to stop pp hairloss and after 5 children my hair has never grown back to how it used to be.
Even worse is the small tufts of new hair that is growing back really slowly and as if things couldn't be bad enough most of it is grey!

I've lost my hair three times in my adult life. The first time was in college after I attempted to dye my hair dark brown and I guess I left the dye in too long and it turned black and then later a bunch (probably 1/3) of it fell out. Then the second time was due to a high fever I had and then about three months later my hair started out in clumps for like 6 months or so (I'd say I'd lost about half of it by the time it stopped) and the third time started about four-five months after my son was born. (via. c section but I'm not sure if that makes any difference or not.) and that went on got the better part of a year and again I lost almost half my hair.

Losing your hair is scary, and it sucks (although thankfully I have a lot of hair so even with half of it gone it still looked fine) but the good news is that it's come back every time! My son turns two tomorrow, so my hair is still growing back in from the last time but I have a ton of hair now that's just long enough to get into a ponytail while the rest of my hair is down to my mid back.

To answer your question though, I don't think there is anything you can do to stop it. You're just got to let it run its course and remember that it very likely won't be permanent!

Thank you for your reply. I’ve always had really thin hair so haven’t got much to play with. I’m devastated. Happy birthday for your little boy tomorrow.
