To be lay awake worrying

Our toddler is in her "big girl bed" tonight for the first time. She rolled out earlier and hit the mattress we have on the floor alongside her. She cried in shock, but went back to sleep in the bed no problem.

I'm no lay awake worrying because I've just thought, the wardrobe and drawers aren't secured to the wall. What if she gets up and pulls them over? I'm really panicking

Well you can't do anything about it now.

Take your stuff and go and sleep on the mattress. Sort it out tomorrow.

This is true! Definitely out to buy furniture straps tomorrow

Sleep on the mattress so you’re there when she wakes up. The wardrobe and drawers should have been secured at the time they were put in there. Nothing you can do right now but I wouldn’t risk her being alone in there.

I guess you're right. It just never crossed my mind as the only time she was ever alone was when she was in her cot.

Furniture secure! Hopefully I can relax tonight!

Why not get a bed guard? Isn’t that better than her falling out of bed onto a mattress?

omvreplat · 01/09/2019 12:08

We do have one but it doesn't seem to work with the bed she has. It's a cotbed, which is now a toddler bed. The mattress doesn't seem thick/heavy enough to hold the side straight/properly if that makes sense
