I don't know whether it's done kind of intolerance or something (have been tested three times for milk allergy - negative three times) but milk gives me a bit of belly ache but more annoyingly - after I've had any my mouth is so DRY!!

Does anyone else experience this??

No but it is the case that some professional singers don’t drink milk before they sing so makes sense

SillySallySue · 31/08/2019 09:50

@Digestive28 Really? That's interesting

I am allergic milk.

I cant say I noticed is gave me dry mouth though. Of even a stomach ache sponge after drinking.

It absolutely does bung me up and I cant go to the toilet. I think everyone experiences it differently.

Like white chocolate burn the back of my throat and ds finds the same.

I’ve been told that products apparently create mucous (hideous word) so can make your mouth and throat a bit sticky and uncomfortable. Much worse for some people than others I think. As the PP said, opera singers often avoid dairy because they feel it affects their throat and the sound of their voice.

Chanteuse · 31/08/2019 09:55

Milk (and all dairy) makes you produce more catarrh, which is why singers avoid it (and they should!) That's what causes that gluey feeling when you've had a glass of milk or something creamy.

SillySallySue · 31/08/2019 09:58

@Ilikethisone I get bunged up too, maybe that might improve if I gave dairy the heave ho.

@dollydaydream114 I can certainly imagine not wanting to sing after a glass of milk!

Op drink water straight after drinking milk. It removes the traces of fat that come from milk.

Ilikethisone · 31/08/2019 10:03

@SillySallySue mine improved massively after I gave milk up. I would give it a try. Smile

SillySallySue · 31/08/2019 10:05

@HotnessUnited Will give it a go. We do have blue top so full fat.
