Aibu to really want to cry to be leaving my home town of Aberdeen? Been staying with my parents for 4 weeks holidays but I m a teacher in the home counties and going back today.
Mum and Dad are in their late 70s and Dad has health problems. I ve been helping them out while i have been here. I really want to move home but have a good job in an English school and my adult dc still live with me (ds had a nervous breakdown and dd is still saving to move in with her boyfriend one day).
I m needed everywhere.
Not really an Aibu i know but I m so sad leaving. I grew up in Aberdeen and wish I didnt leave Sad

Not easy. Is there any reason that DS couldn’t come with you to Aberdeen if not on his feet in a year? Could you make a 2 year plan to make it happen and allow DD time to save?

If you're feeling sad just read the comments on any evening express Facebook post and you'll soon be glad to be away from the Doom. Plus it's almost winter

I'm sure your parents have really appreciated your help and loved having you with them.
They will fully understand you have to go home and maybe you could look to see if there are any vacancies in your area of expertise, with the intent of moving back once adult children have flown the nest.

Could you transfer your role there in the not too distant future with a goal time to aim for.

Yes I have a loose plan to relocate as ds can transfer stores if he likes. He works for a company that has branches everywhere and would love to live in Scotland.
Dd is 25 so working her way up in her job but not ready to leave home yet.
I m weird coz i love the cold so Scottish winter doesn't bother me.
Its definitely a plan. I m only 51 so have many years work ahead of me but only recently been promoted in my school.
Already looking at a half term break up north Smile
