Just that really... I know that tinder has a reputation for being 'hook ups only' but I think it has more or less shed that rep now.

Wondering if anyone here is currently in or has previously forged a positive relationship with someone they met on tinder?

Or do you know of anyone that has MNetters? Smile

Old flat mate now married to her tinder date. Best friend and I both met our dps on eharmony

Marinetta · 29/08/2019 11:30

I met my partner on Tinder and we are still together 4 yesrs later and have just had a baby. I was just looking for a bit of fun for a few months as I was in a new town for a work project and didn't know anyone but when I had to return home he insisted we gave long distance a try and a year later moved to the same city as me.

Slinkyreptile · 29/08/2019 11:31

Met my DH on POF 6 years ago. Just bought our first house together last year, DD aged 16 months and currently 34 weeks pregnant with DS. Took a lot of dodgy dates to find him though admittedly

Kaiser1805 · 29/08/2019 11:32

Met my partner on a dating site not quite Tinder but Plenty of Fish it was called, we're now living in our house after 2 years and have a baby on the way! ❤️

amijustparanoidorjuststoned · 29/08/2019 11:40

I met my partner through Tinder. I always turned my nose up previously at dating apps and online dating (no idea why!!) but my friend convinced me to give it a go, if anything, for a bit of a giggle after breaking up with a really horrible boyfriend a few months earlier.

Fast forward five and a half years... we've bought our first house, have travelled and are getting married next year! Grin

This sounds so corny but I have truly met the love of my life, even if it was through Tinder. So take it from a woman who has extremely sceptical about the whole dating app idea that there are definitely some positives Smile x

My partner was 4 years above me in school, same year as my brother. I knew who he was but never spoke to him but did really really fancy him in school Blush

We matched on Tinder, spoke for a few days then went on a first date, 4 years later we are now engaged with a house and a dog so definitely a success for us Grin

CellarFloor · 29/08/2019 11:45

I went on just one tinder date 4 years ago. DD is currently shouting through a mouthful of rice cake... I can't ever let her know she's a tinder baby!

sciencegirl91 · 29/08/2019 11:51

I met my boyfriend on tinder 9 months ago (after many years of dating). I went to a wedding a couple of years of a friend who met her DH on tinder, they've just had a baby. Two other friends met their partners on tinder, both couples now living together. Another friend lives with her DP who she met on bumble, my colleague also just moved in with hers who she met on bumble too! Apps really are the 'usual' way that anyone seems to get together post school/university

brookelopez · 29/08/2019 12:00

met my dp on bumble in March. we clicked easily and spent about 2 days apart in 6 months. expecting our first baby in March next year. before I met him I'd had a lot of tinder and bumble dates where there was no chemistry or they were weirdos.

lastqueenofscotland · 29/08/2019 12:04

18 months later I’m with someone I met on tinder
I’m going to a wedding in a couple of weeks for a couple that met on tinder too

6 years, house, marriage, baby!

I do all my shopping online so shouldn’t have been such a surprise Grin

Pinkcat231 · 29/08/2019 13:50

*8 year!

Where does the time go? Blush

Kay1341 · 29/08/2019 13:51

Met DP in Tinder 4.5 years ago, we would have never met without it (lived in different parts of the city, different circles and professions). We've lived together for 2.5 years and we've got a 7 month old gorgeous DS.

TemporaryPermanent · 29/08/2019 13:53

I have a colleague who's living with her boyfriend she met on tinder. Seem very happy.

userxx · 29/08/2019 13:55

@LividLaughLove Wow! You are a brave lady.

fairynick · 29/08/2019 13:56

Three and a half years with the first and only ever tinder date I’ve been on! (Still tell our parents we met in a bar)

LividLaughLove · 29/08/2019 13:59

@userxx

Not brave in the slightest. Life is a million times easier with the right person.

I divorced under traumatic circumstances a long time ago and vowed I’d never want to marry again. I never imagined I’d meet the man I did and that we’d both want the exact same things.

FizzyPink · 29/08/2019 13:59

OP can I suggest Bumble or Hinge instead. Hinge in particular has matched me with some lovely guys and not just the fuck boys I seem to meet on Tinder.
I’m not sure where you are in the country but in London Tinder is now used mainly for hook ups

peachyandkeen · 29/08/2019 14:03

@fairy why is that? As in, why do you tell them you met in a bar?

Is that because some people still don’t really understand OLD / there’s a small taboo around it?

OP posts:
fairynick · 29/08/2019 14:04

Yeah exactly that, doubt they’d be bothered at all but we panicked when they first asked and blurted that out and have just kept it up every since! 😂

missmarplesapprentice · 29/08/2019 14:11

Met my now DH on Tinder 5 years ago! Though have to admit, had to sift out a lot of people just looking for hook-ups but there were (back then) some genuine people out there.
Bought a house less than a year after that and then got married! There is definitely taboo about online dating (especially with the older generation) so we have neither confirmed nor denied that's how we met.

Lauralouu · 29/08/2019 14:12

Both of my brothers met their wives on POF, ones been married for 9 years now, and they were talking over POF while my brother was on his Afghan tour. My other brother has now been married for just over a year, and they are perfect for each other!
My best friend just got married last month after being with her boyfriend for 4 years after they met on Tinder. She took 6months to reply to his message but they went bowling and hit it off straight away!! So three people i'm very close to have done extremely well out of online dating :D

whattodowith · 29/08/2019 14:14

Met my DH on Tinder over five years ago, we have a 10 month old baby so it was pretty successful for us Wink.

milienhaus · 29/08/2019 14:15

Met my DP on Tinder 2 years ago and getting married in 2 weeks!
