To ask for help booking a holiday. No idea where to start!

Probably a bit of a stupid question but I would appreciate some help pointing me in the right direction.
Me and the family only ever go on the same two holidays... first to the same caravan park I’ve been going to since a child and second to my OH home country. Neither requires much planning or thought as we do the same every time.

So I would like to go somewhere new with my husband and two young kids but I’m not sure where to start?
If I type into google I’m bombarded with so many confusing sites. How do I know what hotel is near what airport? how do we get from the airport to the hotel? How do I communicate if I get lost and no one speaks English? How will I know what touring options or activities are available at the time we going? How do I know if it’s a kids friendly holiday?
To start with would ideally like to stay somewhere like France, Spain or Italy.

Is there one website or app that just makes all this easy?

Would really appreciate some help.

Just go into a travel agents and say that

I agree with the above. It's possible to do a DIY holiday, of course, but if you're unsure about what you're going, it would be easier to book a package deal.

I find Tui quite good, though they aren't the cheapest. You can go into a store or look on their website.

Sounds like a package will be a good idea then you don't have to worry about a lot of the things you mention.

Jet2holidays are good if their airports suit and you can book online or sometimes in travel agents if you have one locally. Many people in hotels, restaurants etc in tourist areas speak English and if you go on a package there will be a rep, who will probably be British. Hotels often have leaflets about excursions or you could just buy a guidebook or look for tourist websites when you have booked. Visitmallorca.com for example. Public transport in Spain is usually quite good for getting around.

Other thing to think about is what sort of area you want. You probably don't want a clubbing area if you are with a young family but the jet2holidays website tells you whether it is family friendly or young and lively etc. There's loads of choice in the Canaries, Balerics, Costas on mainland Spain etc and there's a map to show you where the hotel is compared with local area, restaurants etc.

Other thing to think about is whether you want self catering, bed and breakfast, half board, all inclusive etc. We usually do SC or B&B in an aparthotel with a kitchenette so can store food and drink and have snacks and easy meals and usually one restaurant meal out each day as AI is usually a buffet unless you go high end, which is ££££s.

Have a look on TUI and Jet2. They have packages you can book online, you will be able to get a feel of prices / locations etc.

Jet2 holidays trump TUI every time

On most package holiday websites I think you can select advanced filters e.g kids club, pool, playground. I know Tui do. So maybe start with Spain, select all your desirable features and go from there? Then you can select and deselect to see different options.

I use the wensites, mentioned, have a look what's available for the budget and then use TripAdvisor.

Tripadvisor.co.uk is useful because guests upload their own photos. You can filter out the reviews you want that mention, the beach, free bus, kids club etc.

Then have a read of the forums on there.

Firstly decide what you definitely want and don't want.

Just to add, everyone speaks English in tourist places.
