AIBU to think this is the most unrealistic advert ever

Just saw a TV ad for 'Always' ignoring the disgusting smell that they put in their products which means I would never buy them again anyway

The ad showed various sporting women. Great - strong female role models. However, one included a tennis player, in all white (of course), short skirt (of course), bouncing around. Come on! Mid-period is there any way that you would jump around, dressed in white, with a TV camera on you?

Maybe if you're on the pill, and have very light bleeding, maybe if you also have a tampon. But honestly? Not in my life.

and why do they always pour 'blue liquid' on to test the pad? Why don't they use red??

As if an elite tennis player would risk the biggest games of their career on a period. The ad is very unrealistic.

I know periods can be terrible (mine are often absolutely incapacitating), but not every woman struggles with them, especially if they're on birth control which minimises bleeding.

I don't think it's realistic to suggest that no woman has ever competed in a top level sporting event while on her period. It quite clearly must happen.

I'm very pleased that the Oral B advert "I didn't even know Oral B made toothpaste!" seems to have now removed that line from the ad.

They must have finally realised that everybody on earth knows Oral B makes toothpaste and realise how bloody stupid it sounded 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Surprised it even got past the planning and all the ad execs tbh

Uncanny...
No sooner mentioned than it appears in the side bar.

I actually think the start of the advert is worse. “I know how to keep my body healthy, but how do I keep my mouth healthy?” Like, are you a fucking idiot love? Have you never heard of brushing your teeth?

Most surreal advert I’ve seen recently has got to be the incontinence pad one with the woman getting married on a zip wire. It’s seriously like a weird fever dream.
