Anyone here suffered from a MC or Ectopic Pregnancy?

I'm really sorry to post this in this section. I did post in the miscarriage section but had no response so I'm pretty desperate for reassurance.

Story: Unfortunately I've suffered an ectopic pregnancy which required surgery and they also had to cut out a bit of my womb as it had embedded between the muscular wall and fallopian tube. I am feeling much better 6 days after surgery, I am still aching but I am much better but one thing that is nagging me slightly is vaginal bleeding. I am not bleeding onto my pad as such, but I only bleed once I sit on the toilet.

I go for a wee as normal and then blood will just randomly come out which takes 1-2 toilet paper to clear it. It is bright red blood, looks like fresh blood! This has been ongoing for 3 days now. The consultant said bleeding is to be expected but they discharged me the next morning after I had surgery in the evening the day before so I didn't get any instructions or anything.

It just says if I'm filling a pad per hour (I'm not), if I have a temperature or abdominal pain (no to both), then go A&E so I don't think it is an emergency. Just a PITA!

Would you say this is OK? It's not classed as hemmorhaging is it if it's fresh blood? I'm worried that whatever they used to close a portion of my womb with has come away or not been done properly hence the bleeding :( I really don't want to have anymore surgery!

That sounds totally normal and only very slight bleeding. Haemorrhage is heavy bleeding and you would be filling your pad.

I'm sorry you're going through this

So sorry for your loss. It sounds normal to me (I've had 2 miscarriages). Are you resting or carrying on as normal? I found I got an increase of fresh red blood if I was doing anything active for the first 2 weeks after my surgical miscarriage and longer after my natural miscarriage.

Sorry you have been through this, ectopics are heartbreaking but also terrifying if you needed emergency surgery. I bled for around a week after very heavily but if you feel it’s too much then there is no harm in going to see your gp or back to the hospital for a check up. Rest up and take care love xx

@Bambamber
Thank you for your kind words and reassurance. It may seem like I am making a huge deal but I am forever worried about afterwards and the thought of going through it again :(

@elliejjtiny
Yes I am more active than usual because I have a 3 year old toddler :( and they also told me to keep moving to prevent the risk of blood clots. That probably explains why actually! In the morning when I get up to go loo, there's hardly any bloody then when I stand up from the toilet that's when I can feel it come into my pad. Not much! I'd probably say size of a 50p... I'm overly dramatic aren't I?!

Thank you again for your kind words and I'm sorry you had to go through that too. It's really horrible Sad

@Wiltshirelass2019 thank you for your kind words. I have a check up this week so I will definitely speak to the doctor and see what he or she has to say. I just want to get back to normal. I am fed up of being in pain and just feeling useless because I can't bend or pick up anything :( xx

It’s still early days, I’d say it took me two weeks to feel better physically, emotionally it took a little longer . Don’t forget you’ve have life saving surgery, give yourself plenty of time to rest xxx

I had an ectopic a good few years ago The bleeding sound normal - especially if you are lifting a toddler (I was in a similar situation) but my advice if you are at all worried os to phone the hospital ward you were on (there should be a number to phone in your discharge notes) then you can chat to someone, or failing that ask your surgery for a GP phone call and the doc will be able to reassure you.

It is very early days - I find after operations it takes me a good week to ten days to get over the anaesthetic, and an ectopic pregnancy will also take an emotional toll.
If it is any comfort to you, I also lost a fallopian tube and part of the womb and went on to have a healthy baby girl two years later (she is now 30yrs old !)
