Levator ani syndrome - in lots of pain. TMI alert possibly

Posting here as general health is quiet at the best of times.

I have had endometriosis for 30 years or so and have often suffered rectal pain which has always been put down to this. I have pelvic pain 24/7 not just during my period. I have 3 children and with all 3 labours all the pain was in my bum. Since then I often get pain before, during and after I poop but it quickly goes. Today it hasn't and it hurts to sit down. I also have pain in my left side.

From having a good google it appears to be levator ani syndrome as as it's the perfect fit for my symptoms and I've had pelvic floor spasm previously diagnosed.

Has anyone had this and found a good way to relieve the pain? I'm already taking regular paracetamol and dihydrocodeine for my every day pain and can't take NSAIDs. No piles, no bleeding, just pain.

Buscoosn is a muscle relaxant, would that help?

Good idea, I've got some of that too. I've had 2mg diazepam and it feels improved a little.

Make sure you are not getting constipated in the hot weather especially if you are taking codeine. You could try sitting in a shallow warm bath for a bit.

I was going to suggest buscopan too.

I'm definitely not constipated and am drinking plenty. I've take codeine for years and only get constipated if I increase the dose. Luckily I have lots of buscopan so will take it regularly.
