To go to the beach alone?

It's a lovely day here today and I quite fancy a trip to the beach. It's about 30 miles away so not round the corner. DH is at work and DMum is keeping an eye on her cat who's not doing so well. Would it be strange to go on my own? I'm thinking make a sandwich, take plenty of water and a book?
I'm 26 weeks pregnant and know I won't have much time to myself in a few months but I'm thinking if it's full of families I might look a bit odd just sat on my own?
I'm also suffering from PGP/SPD so couldn't really manage a walk or anything when I get there so is it worth the trip?

Go and enjoy yourself. You're not going to have much time to chill by yourself in the next couple of years.

I admit that I didn't grow up in the UK, but I honestly didn't realise how strict and almost Victorian Britain is.

OP, my friend didn't live near a beach but did pass a lake on her way home from work. She is German. She loves to swim naked. She would stop at this lake, on her way home from work as a lawyer on a summer evening, discreetly strip off and go for a swim. All alone. She said quite a few people did it. Very popular in Germany.

It isn't

But some of the people are.

Completely normal. I’m currently sunbathing in a park on my own surrounded by families. It’s fine. Listen to music and read a book. I imagine a lot of people would look at you enviously that you have time to yourself!
