Wedding day anxiety nerves. not even my blumming wedding.

My neighbour is getting married today. We live in East London. The wedding is near Birmingham at 1.00. It's just gone 9.30 and they are still in the house.

Am I being unreasonable to be having nervous kittens on their behalf, the grooms party is obviously waiting for the cars to come, but they look very chilled out, having coffee, chatting, while I am sitting here thinking "traffic, motorways, delays, why didn't they stay in a motel overnight" .

I know, not my circus, not my monkeys, but if it was me I would be necking Valium and doing deep breathing . Who am I kidding, I am doing deep breathing! They did invite me to the wedding(purely out of politeness, I don't really know them, they are new neighbours) and I think I would have set out at least an hour ago . There is laid back and laid back, and they are horizontal.

I know in the normal course of events it is plenty of time to get there, but on your wedding day. Eek.

This is lighthearted btw .

I would be exactly the same as you.

Butterymuffin · 25/08/2019 09:42

Some people are just like that! Be glad you're not marrying one of them Wink

bridgetreilly · 25/08/2019 09:56

Relax. That really is plenty of time to get there, especially on a Sunday.

Thehop · 25/08/2019 09:58

It’s Sunday, it’s fine!

GloriousMystery · 25/08/2019 09:58

Chill, OP. Go in and have some of their special relaxing coffee.

Pinkflipflop85 · 25/08/2019 09:59

I would absolutely be the same as you!

Have a lovely day neighbour and soon to be Mrs neighbour Flowers

I would be the same as you. It's a hot bank holiday sunday, could be loads of people out and about. Much easier to go up the night before. I hope they've left now!

LadyInTheHouse · 25/08/2019 10:04

Is it an Indian wedding? If so the timings are not that strict and they usually start ‘late’.

ladyratterley · 25/08/2019 10:04

Oh god I would be having kittens! I would love to be as laid back as that but it’s never going to happen! Grin

EileenAlanna · 25/08/2019 10:16

I'm in Birmingham. If I spot the car I'll flash them a little poster with "Viques says step on the gas" in big letters Smile

Smelborp · 25/08/2019 10:22

Sounds like they have plenty of time to me!

viques · 25/08/2019 10:25

Make that a big shouty poster EileenAllanna, they are still here.

It is an Indian wedding LadyintheHouse ,well Bengali rather than Indian, so I know from previous experiences (turning up at venues on time and wondering if we had the right day/place) that they are flexible , but I just want them on their way.

Car driver is looking at a route map printout and putting somethin into his phone, so at least he knows where he is going.
