Our beautiful lurcher is getting a little more doddery by the day. He's a calm sweet boy who gets on brilliantly with our slightly neurotic whippybed (and the children)
I'm currently on mat leave and thinking of getting a puppy as 1. Whippybed hates being alone and doesnt tolerate other dogs. 2. I'll have time to house train whilst I'm off

  1. My old boy will be delighted to have more doggy company.
  2. Our friends have just had a litter of lurchers.
  3. We have the room and can afford one.
I'm not wishing my boy away AT ALL. He's the sweetest soul ever but the day will come and I fear sooner rather than later. Dh fully on board. Are we totally insane or does this make sense?

Does Whippybed like puppies?

Tillygetsit · 25/08/2019 00:22

Yes she does. Brings out her maternal side I think

Yes, get a puppy. You know what you are in for and if you can manage.

It's not happening 😥Our lovely happy 14yr old boy turned into a snarling monster when introduced to pup. Never seen him do this before. Hes met lots of puppies and just wanted to play but not with this little chap. Oh well.

Oh. I suppose like people some dogs don't take to other particular dogs. Sorry. (Might he like one of the female puppies better?)
