To be worried about my holiday booked for early November?

I’ve got a holiday booked for 1st November - it’s just a long weekend to Italy but I am suddenly really worried about a no deal Brexit & how it might affect my hols. It’s for my husbands special birthday & was booked ages ago.
Aibu to now be concerned? People keep saying planes won’t fly & there will be huge disruption - not to mention a crap pound.

I know it’s a first world problem in the big scheme of things but it’s a treat we have been saving for and looking forward to for ages

theduchessstill I think this is the biggest headache. I leave for my holiday as an EU citizen, but when I return I won't be. I can see it causing confusion in the airports, and i'm expecting delays.

We fly back to UK from France on the 1st of November. I’m expecting delays l, but trying not to think anymore about it really. There nothing we can do, so no point stressing. Mind you, I think I’d be more worried about being delayed going, than delayed coming home.

I wouldn't worry about something that may not happen.
Also its out of everyones control.
What will be will be.

I hate Brexit and all it stands for

All the wonderful gushy "We're stronger together" messages (from the time of the Scottish referendum) magically morphed into the opposite Grin

Is there not a potential issue with fuel supply?

Heratnumber7 · 24/08/2019 08:54

Ellabella Japan isn't in the EU. Grin

Sorry should have made it clearer that when I’m travelling to japan I have a connecting flight to get from Paris which is why I’m concerned.

TheBadCop · 24/08/2019 09:15

have you considered the option that the Italians won't let you in without visa

I was joking. This won't happen. Wink

Planes will still fly.
There are channels for EU and Non EU citizens.
Buy your pounds now.
Get travel insurance.
I am sure that travel visas will be available at the border on arrival.

People from non EU countries do travel to Europe a lot.

(I say this as a Remainer)

Why would a holiday to Japan be affected? Genuine question...

Because they have to fly through EU airspace which could be problematic if there are no aviation agreements in place?
