AIBU to ask how to get nits to fuck off

I have 3 dds and for the past 3 months nits have been a constant fucking nightmare in my life. I have tried gel, shampoo, nit combing every week but they won't go. I hoped the summer holidays would ease the problem but it hasn't. AIBU to ask for advice on how to kill the bastards?

I know this sounds bonkers, but it worked.

Years ago when dd1's head was crawling with nits, the health visitor told me to buy a cheap bottle of vodka😂😂😂 and Rinse her hair with it, I was demented I'd tried everthing. I bought it and it worked. She never got nits again when the rest of the kids in her class kept getting them repeatedly.

Dd2 has started nursery, when she gets them, I will definitely be using vodka on her😁😁😁.

Listerine mouth wash in a spray bottle. Soak the hair leave over night wash out in the morning repeat every 3 days for 2-3 weeks does the trick. My dd won’t sit there and let me do her hair for too long so this works for us.
Won’t go back to anything else.
I was prone to getting them as a kid and picked them up when dd did at nursery and it’s def by far the best. My sil swears by this as well

The Listerine home remedy is a favourite in the US & has worked for everyone I know whose tried it in the UK. They also swear by mayonnaise, you then cover with shower cap & leave overnight then rinse out.

We were plagued for months. Tried everything, only thing that eventually worked was a Sainsbury's own brand thing that you left on overnight. Or maybe it was coincidence and they had just got fed up and moved on...my sympathies anyway, it's soul destroying.

Are people combing with the conditioner still in? I found I couldn’t see what was coming out when I did that so tried a mix of dry hair or wet hair.

My daughter is 9 with the longest thickest hair you could imagine , but it’s gorgeous .
She was plagued with head lice for the first 2 years of school( from reception to 6 years ).
I had never experienced head lice before even though granny tells my daughter I had lots of them . 💀

So I bought every shampoo, gel treatment you could imagine or was available in Boots and Amazon.
Till eventually washing her hair twice a day and putting conditioner on it to Combe it through and leaving it on to sleep in eventually killed the nasty bugs.
