Almost 7 year old chat/ games

Am out for the day with my son, his friend (both 7) and my 4 year old DD. Have just heard my sons friend asking my DD if she wants to come and play with them later a game where they will be taking their clothes off. I immediately told the friend that this was not appropriate, privates are private, etc etc. Am a bit shocked/ sad about the whole scenario (especially for my DD who would have just been chuffed to be asked to play with them). Aibu & a prude? Should I have just laughed it off?

Definitely not a prude, I'd mention it to his parents to let them know as if it were my DS I'd want to know, so I could talk to him about what's inappropriate etc.

NatashaRomanov · 22/08/2019 14:32

A 7 year old would know that is not appropriate.
I would be bringing it up with the school safeguarding lead to be honest.

@coverting I was thinking about doing that. I had to mention a similar scenario a few weeks back when a few families were at our house, and the same boy asked my DD to show her private's when they were running around the garden on a hot day in swim things/ pants. I saw what was happening then- and called my kids inside to find out what was happening. I feel like if I mention today to her (when nothing actually happened...) that she might think I am being dramatic/ vilifying her son. Thoughts?

I think the other poster is right in saying they'd bring it up with safeguarding, especially taking the other incident into account.

wonderingsoul · 22/08/2019 15:11

At 7 it could just be curiosity but you definitely need to bring it up to the mother.
She needs to have a talk with him

Witchinaditch · 22/08/2019 15:42

My children wouldn’t be seeing that child anymore.

ElizaDee · 22/08/2019 16:26

I'd consider reporting to the school or SS. You don't know where he's got this from. He could be being abused himself. You don't know what he was going to do if he got your DD undressed, or you didn't see what was happening at your BBQ.

YouJustDoYou · 22/08/2019 16:28

Not appropriate at ALL.

I’d mention to parents, school and be keeping a very close eye on the child around my DC in future.
