AIBU to ask...
What time do they wake up, what time do they nap and how long for? What time do they go to bed?

OP posts:
SAHM2019 · 22/08/2019 14:24

So my first two went to bed around 7.30pm and woke up around 7.30am at this age. Both had a day time nap but I couldn't tell you what time. Just that it was for 1-2 hours.
I have an 18 month old who does exactly the same now but her day time nap is erratic. Usually a morning nap (1-2 hours) but can sometimes be later. Never effects the time she goes to bed though. This one was the latest to start sleeping through though and shes only been doing this the past couple of months. Before that was a killer.

BillywilliamV · 22/08/2019 14:25

When my DD gets a 9 I’ll write it across the sky with a fucking plane!!

BillywilliamV · 22/08/2019 14:26

Whoops, wrong thread. Shouldn’t post while on telecon!

TequilaMockingbird0 · 22/08/2019 14:37

Just turned 2 but been the same routine for months:

Up at 6.45am
Nap 1-2.30pm
Bedtime 7pm

MrsMonkeyBear · 22/08/2019 14:38

Almost 22m DD

Up about 6am (we're a family of early risers)
Nap: About 90 mins anytime between 9am and 2pm depending on her mood.
Bed: Sometime between 7 and 7.30pm.

Our routine has gone to pot over the summer holidays but now her big sister is back at school, it's getting back to normal slowly!!!

Witchinaditch · 22/08/2019 15:21

Up at 6.30 nap at 12/12.30-2.30/3 bed at 7/7.30 depending on when they woke from nap

Busydrinkingcoffee1 · 22/08/2019 15:28

Bed between 6.30-7.30, normally up at 7. However my 22 DS occasionally still weeks for a bottle around 4ish but is getting more rare now!

PseudoQuim · 22/08/2019 15:49

At 22 months
Bed at 9pm
Awake at 7.30-7.45am
Nap at 10.45/11am for 2.5 hours

Now at 27 months
Bed at 8.30pm
Awake at 7.30am (sometimes a bit earlier)
Nap at 12.30/12.45pm for 1.5 hours when at nursery, 2.5 hours when at home

Expressedways · 22/08/2019 15:53

Mine is now 26 months but it hasn’t changed since she was about 15 months:
-Nap: 1-3pm (might be shorter if it’s in the stroller or the car but always at least an hour)
-Overnight Sleep: 7pm-7am

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 22/08/2019 16:10

Nearly 19 months.

Wakes between 8 to 8.30am
Naps from 12.30 till about 1.30 at nursery
Bedtime between 8 and 8.30pm

Always been great at bed but a crap napper though. Dropped to one nap much earlier than usual too. God knows how nursery manage to get a nap out of her, she fights it all the way here, even went a day with no naps once!

SayOohLaLa · 22/08/2019 16:17

OP, if you find a magic formula please let me know . Our 13 month old have slept for 6 - 7 hours about 6 times since birth and is usually up between 1 and 3 times.

Looking at these posts, the early lunch / early tea / early bedtime seems to be a thing but she needs to fit in with older sibling attending after school clubs (big age gap) so we could never do a 4.30pm tea. I think we're just condemned until she eventually learns to self settle.

RedTrek · 22/08/2019 17:49

Mine's 24 months now but hasn't changed since then.

Night sleep 8 pm to 8 am.

Nap starts approx 12.30 pm and he's not allowed to sleep past 3 pm. Usually wakes at 2.30 ish but it's not unusual for him to go longer so we have that limit.

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 23/08/2019 19:43

DS is 22m and has just started sleeping through the night (though he probably telepathically knows I’ve written that and will now wake up seventy billion times tonight).
He goes to bed at around 7.15-7.30, is usually asleep within 10-15 minutes (chatters to himself for a bit or occasionally needs an extra cuddle first).
Wakes up around 6 (can be anywhere from 5-6.30)
One nap per day, ideal time around 11-1. I don’t let him sleep for longer than 2-2.5 hours, and no sleep after about 3pm (but I’m a bit flexible on this, eg if we have been out and he’s only fallen asleep at 2, I might let him sleep until 3.30pm).

Passmethepepsi · 23/08/2019 19:54

My 22 month old doesn’t sleep through and had also cut out her nap Sad

GinNotGym19 · 23/08/2019 20:05

18mo bed at 6pm and wakes up anywhere from 6.30-8. We usually get up at 6:30 for school runs but in holidays hes been sleeping longer.
If we are home he will nap 10-12 but if we are out he doesn’t nap

Poetryinaction · 23/08/2019 20:14

Mate they're all different.
Dc1 slept through from 11 months, no matter how long or late the nap. Super deep sleeper.
Dc2 didn't sleep through until 3 years and couldn't nap beyond 22 months or she'd be up until 11pm. Rubbish, light sleeper.
Dc3 slept through from the day I stopped breastfeeding her at 14months and sleeps well. She is 17 months now and naps for 1-2 hours any time as early as 10 or as late as 2.

spey2 · 23/08/2019 20:17

20 month old

Bed at 6:45pm - I wake her myself at 8:30 on a week day for nursery and she has 45 minute nap.

Weekends bed at 6:45pm and she sleeps until 10:30 am Confused doesn't nap and goes to bed at 6:45pm. I am aware we are so so lucky. We sleep trained at 6 months and she's been great with sleep ever since.

mysweetlove · 23/08/2019 21:21

Bed at 7pm, usually up between 7-8am. Back asleep by 10/10.30am usually for an hour and a half! Have tried to push the nap until after lunch but he just seems to naturally need it earlier and it leaves our afternoons free etc. so works for us.

mysweetlove · 23/08/2019 21:22

Should have said...21 months

ItsMischerWavy · 23/08/2019 21:28

Now 2 years old but has had the same routine for a while:
Up: 6am
Morning nap: 9am (doesn't always do this now)
Afternoon nap: 13.30-14.00 for anywhere up to 2 hours
Bedtime: 18.00

Naps can be hit and miss sometimes but up and bedtimes stay the same.

macpumpkin1 · 23/08/2019 21:38

It all depends on whether they are teething or not in my opinion. My eldest is and always has been a brilliant sleeper apart from when she is teething. Last month she stopped sleeping and I looked in her mouth and she is cutting 3 molars. I wouldn't mind but she is currently 6 years old and all her friends of a similar age's teeth have come in with no problems at all.

notyourmummy · 23/08/2019 21:43

Mine started sleeping through at roughly that age (although she still wakes occasionally now at 2y4m). Bed at 6.45, up between 7&8, nap 11-1.
