Taking kids to a festival - how much spending money?

Hi, I realise this isn't an AIBU but I couldn't find what I needed on Google so here I am....

This weekend I'm taking the kids to the Victorious Festival in Portsmouth and was wondering if anyone knew roughly how much spending money we'd need?
We're only going on the Sunday and rules are you aren't allowed to take anything other than babyfood (doesn't apply to us) and factory sealed water.
It will be just me and my 9 year old twins (moody teenager is refusing to come!) and everything in the kids arena is included so bouncy castle / rides / facepainting / circus / roller disco etc is all 'free' though I expectthere will be plenty of other stuff they want that will cost me Grin

How.much typically does food cost at these things?
We're going for a big breakfast beforehand but obviously they will still need feeding later in the day.

I'd probably take about 100 for you all
Food can be expensive and you're a captive audience

That's about what I was thinking @Shoxfordian but wasn't sure if it would be enough.
This particular festival is right by the sea in a city and you can leave then comeback so if we really wanted we could pop out for an hour and get something cheaper to eat nearby but I'd rather stay onsite - so many awesome looking food options advertised!

Depends how much other stuff you anticipate buying for your dc really. It's probably enough for food but you could take 150. You can probably use cards as well on site. Sounds fun Smile

Instead of taking 'factory sealed water' take some empty refillable bottle and just refill as necessary once you are in there. That will save a few £ straight away! For food you are normally looking at anywhere between £5-£10 for a meal each plus drinks and snacks

Loads

£10 per person per meal
Plus snacks
Plus drinks

However you won’t need to ‘take spending money’ - just use your debit card. Everywhere will be set up to take cards. Haven’t used cash at a festival since about 2005.

Mains tend to be around £7-8 with kids food a little less. We have always snuck in snacks (hide under fleece and assorted junk in your bag). For the day you can opt for portions of chips or other cheap options. Depending on the organisers, sometimes the WI or other non profit groups are allowed to run stands, or there's a farmers market, bother offer cheaper options (at camp bestival we always got bacon rolls from the WI!)

We go to Victorious most years, it's great and very family friendly. £100 would be fine, there are loads of nice food stalls. You can also walk to a Tesco express and Sainsbury's local within about 5mins if you wanted to save money and just get a meal deal. It's very easy getting in and out of the site.
