I’d be annoyed too. Not so much at the amount of tv but at the lack of effort when your husband has limited time with his child.

He could have at least read a couple of books with her or let her jump on him or chat to her for half an hour before sticking the tv on. It doesn’t need to be all making memories but a bit of meaningful interaction with your child even when you really can’t be bothered is part of being a parent.

Sometimes ‘playing’ is a bit like exercise, once you’re over the hurdle of getting started it’s really quite enjoyable and you get a nice glowy feeling afterwards. And then you can cuddle up and watch an hour of tv guilt free!

Oh dear, my 6mo DD watches classic Heartbeat with her dad every morning while I nap Blush She's not a fan of On the Buses though.

The problem with TV is when you use it instead of doing other things, but if you do plenty of other stuff then I don't really see the issue. We do a lot of classes and activities and forest walks, singing, swimming, etc but I'm not Mary Fucking Poppins and sometimes she gets plonked in front of Hey Duggee while I have a cup of tea and five mins to myself.

MN aversion to tv is wierd.
I don't watch many tv 'programmes' But when I do, I watch it for hours: all series of GoT, Peaky Blinders etc.
Dh watches tonnes of football.

I just don't get peoples hated of it.

Ds's watch tonnes. I used it as a parenting technique Wink more than any other.

Plus I had to dump them infront of CBeebies for 5 hours because I was mn'ing.

Or else how would I have found the time to read 'how to talk so your kids will listen' : choices;
"Do you want the red socks or the blue socks? do you wanna put them on now or in 5 minutes"?

How else would I have had the time to address my shit parenting and parenting failures?

of how fucking easy my life was 15 years ago when all I had to worry about what what Mn thread to post on, and blue v red socks.

I’d be annoyed, not raging. There are plenty of ways to spend some decent quality time with a 2 year old and Peppa pig isn’t one of them...
