Asking for help identifying this smell?

What is this smell in my bedroom?
Sorry to be graphic, but it literally smells like dead people.
It’s coming from my bedside table area.
It smells slightly like a sanitary towel bin which needs emptying.
I’ve smelt myself and it’s not me, wondered if the puppy was coming into her first season, it’s not her, shined a torch behind cabinet and nothing there.
So hard to describe, but almost like when someone vomits blood?
Basically a rotting flesh smell.

I reckon it’s the dog going to come into season.
We shall see in a week or so if I’m correct!
Never had a girl dog before so not sure how it smells.

All good suggestions thanks. Will get on the case when I get home. Hoping not electricals but would be easier than taking the floors up! Don't think it's kitchen related, seems to be in living room/dining room/hall and stairs area. Alas no dog so can't blame them!
Driving hopefully it is the dog and mystery solved although does that mean it'll be a monthly problemShock

She’s getting spayed after her first season so hopefully a one time problem!!! Smell gone today! Yay!

Our dog used to smell rank before she came into season.

The smell that drove me crazy when I was pregnant was the (not so) new paint in our bedroom. I only realised what it was when we painted a different room with the same brand a couple of years later, luckily could only smell it for a week without the pregnancy nose!

@gleegeek
No. Dogs don't come into season on a monthly basis. It's usually twice per year.

When our dogs puppy teeth were falling out her breath smelt foul - fishy, bloody, rotting vom 🤢. Has your dog got her adult teeth yet?

Dog dental issues can smell like that. And infected wounds in dogs and people, but you'd probably have noticed one of those.
